Hi love,
Welcome,
Take a moment to get settled.
Wherever you are,
In bed,
On a chair,
Walking slowly through your day,
Know that you are exactly where you need to be.
Nothing to prove,
Nothing to perfect,
Just this inward journey to meet yourself as you are.
Close your eyes if you can,
And join me in taking a big deep breath in through the nose,
Hold it up top,
And exhale through the mouth with a soft sigh,
Ah,
Lovely.
Now where is it you can find a little more ease?
Perhaps you can drop your shoulders,
Unclench your jaw,
Allow the space behind your eyes to soften,
Amazing.
Let's breathe in again,
Slowly,
Deeply,
As if you're giving yourself permission to receive,
Hold,
And then exhale long and steady,
Releasing anything that doesn't need to be here.
Again,
Big inhale,
Feel your breath lengthening you,
Hold,
And exhale,
Grounding deeper into your body.
Keep it going at your own pace.
With each inhale,
Feel yourself expanding slightly,
As if you're making room inside your chest for peace.
With each exhale,
Imagine letting go of any tension or noise.
Sense your awareness gathering in the center of your being,
In your heart,
Your solar plexus,
Wherever you feel most you,
That quiet place beneath the surface thoughts,
The one that remembers your true essence,
Even when you forget or get distracted.
For a moment,
Just breathing,
Just existing,
Just being you,
Beautiful.
I invite you to picture yourself holding a Matryoshka doll,
One of those wooden nesting dolls that open layer by layer,
Each one revealing a smaller figure,
And these ones just so happen to look like you.
You twist the largest one gently at the middle,
Top from bottom,
And inside you find another figure of yourself.
Keep on opening,
And you'll find another,
And another still.
One by one,
You open them all until every piece is laid out before you in a line from left to right,
Smallest to biggest,
A timeline carved in wood,
Each figure a reflection of who you've been,
And in this instant,
It hits you.
This is you,
All of you,
Every season,
Every chapter,
Every identity you've ever worn,
Each one still living quietly within the next stage of your evolution.
Let's begin with your youngest self,
The very first and smallest version of you.
Gently pick up and hold this tiny figure in the palm of your hand.
Sense the serene pulse of their innocence.
Take a deep breath with them,
And feel what's there.
This is you,
The one still learning how to trust the world,
Maybe curious,
Maybe cautious,
Maybe full of wonder,
Maybe a little scared.
Whatever that version held,
They did their best with what they knew.
Place a hand over your heart,
And whisper,
Thank you,
You carried me through tender beginnings.
Is there anything they wish to share with you?
Really listen.
Now move to the next layer,
A slightly older version of you.
Hold this one graciously too.
Perhaps this is the one who was searching for belonging,
Or identity,
For approval,
Or a deeper purpose.
Breathe with this part of you,
And let their story ripple through your heart.
Maybe they stumbled one too many times,
Tried too hard to be liked,
Or felt unseen.
They taught you what it means to fall and get back up,
How to stand on your own feet.
Whisper softly,
Your pain became my wisdom.
If there's something you wish to share with them,
Let it come through with kindness.
What else did they teach you?
Move forward again,
To the one who struggled.
As you embrace and breathe with them,
Notice what surfaces.
Maybe this is the one who doubted their worth,
Who dimmed their light to be loved,
Who said yes when they really meant no,
Who loved so much and sometimes lost themselves in the process.
They too were building you.
Say softly,
Thank you.
You showed me how important it is to love myself.
Allow whatever arises to move through you.
What else did you learn from them?
Keep moving from figure to figure.
One,
See and acknowledge the one who took risks,
The one who failed,
The one who rebuilt from ashes,
The one who finally declared,
Enough is enough.
I'm ready for more.
Each version,
No matter how small,
Awkward,
Or uncertain,
Helped to build the very structure of the self you now inhabit.
You couldn't be this you without every single one of them.
Each one is sacred.
Each one is you.
Take a breath of gratitude for all your former selves.
For their bravery,
Their confusion,
Their persistence.
For every downfall that became a lesson,
And every ache that made you softer.
For the instances that cracked you open just enough to make room for the next version of you to emerge.
Stand back and really admire,
Laid out before you.
They're still part of you,
Still inside you.
Every single one of them.
And know this,
There are still more layers for you to expand into.
Maybe wiser ones,
Softer ones,
Gracious ones,
Calmer ones,
Freer ones,
Truer ones,
Braver ones.
For you are still unfolding,
Still opening,
Still discovering the vastness of your soul.
So instead of hiding from your past selves,
Or feeling shame about them,
Invite them to stand beside you.
Let them know they are welcome.
That they belong.
They all sculpted the perfectly imperfect human you've become.
You see,
We're all works in progress.
All growing and stumbling.
All made of light and shadow.
They are pieces of ourselves we celebrate,
And others we're still learning to accept.
And if you're not yet where or who you want to be,
That's okay too.
No,
You're not alone.
This journey of becoming never ends.
You can change.
You will change.
But change doesn't come from rejecting where you are,
Or criticizing who you've been.
It comes from embracing yourself with tenderness,
Honesty,
And grace,
And letting love do the rest.
So,
Sit with these questions for a few breaths.
Ask yourself,
Where have I been hard on myself?
Where can I forgive myself?
Where is my soul asking to go next?
To close,
Let's take a deep grounding breath in gratitude by inhaling through the nose for four,
Holding for four,
And exhaling through the mouth,
Long and smooth for six.
So,
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Inhale.
Hold.
Once more.
Place your hands on your heart and silently say,
I honor every version of me.
Each one built the bridge to who I am today,
And I am still becoming.
Repeat your affirmation with strength and calm.
I honor every version of me.
Each one built the bridge to who I am today,
And I am still becoming.
I honor every version of me.
Each one built the bridge to who I am today,
And I am still becoming.
In for six,
Hold for four,
And out for six.
As if you're breathing with who you're blossoming into,
Tap into the stillness that follows.
And when you're ready,
Whisper only in your mind,
Thank you to every layer,
Every chapter,
Every version that carried me here.
Thank you.
Thank you to every layer,
Every chapter,
Every version that carried me here.
Thank you.
You are still growing beautifully and right on time.
Carry this awareness as you move through your day with compassion for who you've been and reverence for who you're still transforming into.
The best is yet to come.
And so it is,
My friend.
Thank you so much for joining me.
If you enjoyed this meditation,
Please do drop me a line,
Share it with another,
And help me to grow.
I so appreciate you.
And of course,
Do join me again soon.
From my heart to yours,
WANA
