Hello and welcome to this visualization designed to help you embrace and love yourself,
No matter your age or where you are in your journey.
My name is Juana and I am so honored to be your guide today.
Start by taking a posture that feels relaxed yet alert.
Placing your hands gently on your lap or by your sides.
If this is more of an active walking meditation for you,
Be sure to move at an easeful pace.
No need to rush,
Be with every step.
Okay,
Taking a slow,
Deep belly breath in.
Hold it for a moment,
And then gently let it go.
Another long,
Slow breath.
Hold it for a brief pause,
And exhaling when you feel ready.
Keep going at your own pace,
Allowing any tension you are holding to release.
Soften your breath so that it becomes natural and easy.
Rising and falling at its very own rhythm and pace.
Stay with the entire duration of your breath,
Noticing where it starts,
Where it peaks,
Where it ends,
And where the cycle begins all over again.
Beginning,
Middle,
And end.
Just as you envisioned your breath as a journey with a beginning,
Middle,
And end,
Envision your life as a story with three separate parts.
If you are lucky to make it to 90,
The first 30 years is part one.
The next 30 years has you arrive to 60,
Part two.
And lastly,
The third and final act gets you all the way to 90.
Our culture is obsessed with youth,
In other words,
Part one and some of two,
But what about the rest?
That makes up half of our life.
Why do so many of us fear passing a certain age?
Doesn't a really good novel really pick up in the middle and climax towards the end?
Why have we become so focused on the beginning that we often resist the middle or even lose hope for the end?
It's a bit ridiculous when you think about it.
The fact that we get to celebrate another year when far too many don't live past their youth should give us a big reason to celebrate.
Unfortunately,
Many of us face birthdays after a particular age with a sort of existential dread.
I'd like you to consider this.
At age 23,
Tina Fey was working at a YMCA.
At age 23,
Oprah was fired from her first reporting job.
At age 24,
Stephen King was working as a janitor and living in a trailer.
At 27,
Vincent Van Gogh failed as a missionary and decided to go to art school.
At 28,
J.
K.
Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare.
At 30,
Harrison Ford was a carpenter.
At 30,
Martha Stewart was still a stockbroker.
Julia Child released her first cookbook at age 39 and got her own cooking show at age 51.
Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team,
Didn't get the editor-in-chief position at Vogue,
And designed her first dress at age 40.
Stan Lee didn't release his first big comic book until he was 40.
Samuel L.
Jackson didn't get his first movie role until he was 46.
Morgan Freeman landed his first major movie role at age 52.
Colonel Sanders founded the famous KFC at the age of 62.
Grandma Moses didn't begin her painting career until age 76.
Louise Bourgeois didn't become a famous artist until she was 78.
As many of these inspirational stories suggest,
There's no expiration date on your dreams unless of course you place one on them.
You also needn't become rich and famous to define yourself as having made it.
Those were just some examples that you may know.
I used them to inspire you to understand that if you don't like something,
Change it.
You can pivot at any point in your life,
Even late in your game.
What determines your success is if you enjoy what you are doing.
On a personal note,
I started as a video producer,
Turned photographer,
Turned director,
Turned meditation teacher.
Anything is possible.
And who knows what's next for me,
But I'm excited.
So shall I be so bold as to say that you are always in your prime?
If you so choose it.
Keep following your bliss.
Look,
You've never known more or been more than right now.
And with each passing year,
You know more,
Learn more,
And become even more.
Growing wiser and wiser with age.
So why not only embrace it,
But be excited for it.
You may as well reap the rewards of all the valuable lessons you learned in your youth.
Take these next few breaths to think about that dream that you've been holding near and dear to your heart,
Or perhaps that you've given up on altogether.
These don't have to be big dreams like starting a company or touring with a band.
They could be as simple as that trip to Paris that you have yet to take,
Or that instrument that is still tucked at the back of your closet that you've been meaning to play.
See your vision unfold before your mind's eye,
Enjoy it,
Revel in it.
Dig into it with all your senses.
What do you see?
What do you hear?
What do you smell?
What do you taste?
What do you sense?
Most importantly,
How do you feel in it?
Step into that feeling place now.
Whether that is pride,
Accomplishment,
Or just peace and contentment.
Step into that reality as if you are living it presently.
Not tomorrow,
Not next week or next year,
But right now.
Imagine you are turning up a dial on your intuition,
From 1 all the way up to 10.
Ask your intuition,
What small action step can I take as soon as this week to bring my ambition one step closer to materializing?
What can I do to manifest my wish?
This action could be as tiny as signing up for that course or finally ordering that cookbook.
Picture yourself taking that very step in as much vivid detail as you can.
See how just that one tiny step triggers a momentum of many more steps to come,
Leading you right where you want to go as you enjoy the journey along the way,
Knowing that it's not really about any destination at all,
But the joy you receive from living in alignment with your heart's calling in the present.
It is called the present for a reason after all.
It's a gift.
Whatever you aspire to be or receive,
Big or small,
It's not too late to go after it.
You aren't a failure because you haven't found fame,
Fortune,
Or your calling by the age of 21.
Heck,
It's perfectly alright if you don't even know what your dream is yet.
Start small.
Some visions unfold in their own perfect time,
And it could very well happen at 70.
Many people have found the love of their lives at 70.
I know some,
Not just one,
But a few.
So don't put an age limit on it.
Life is not a linear,
Logical journey.
Feel free to bounce around and have some fun.
Even if you're waiting tables,
Working a desk job,
Or hopelessly single,
You never know where you'll end up tomorrow.
Never tell yourself you're too old to make it,
Or that you can't find love.
Never tell yourself you missed your chance,
Your ship has sailed,
And no more opportunities are docking at your bay.
It's just not true.
Never tell yourself that you aren't good enough,
Or you are past your prime.
Never compare your timeline or goals to others.
You create your reality.
You can call forth anything.
So what are you calling forth?
Be aware of the limiting beliefs running your show.
Because you never know what can happen when you live from a space of possibilities rather than limitations.
Silently affirm to yourself,
With conviction,
I am exactly where I am meant to be.
My prime is right now.
I allow myself to dream.
I am worthy and deserving.
It is never too late to live in alignment with my purpose.
It is never too late to follow my heart.
I am a powerful creator.
I am embracing my own unique journey and not comparing it to any others.
Everything in my life has happened for a reason.
And so it is.
We've reached the end of our journey together.
For now,
Connect to a deep sense of gratitude for all you've realized here.
Silently say thank you.
Begin to bring slow and gentle movements back into your body.
Wiggle your fingers,
Then your toes,
And slowly open your eyes.
Thank you so much for joining me.
I hope you gained so much from our session today.
Please do share about your experience and heartfelt dreams with me.
I love hearing and cheering you on.
And join me on another meditative journey as soon as tomorrow.
Blessings to you.
