Octavia Griffiths.
Today,
I will be taking you on a soothing,
Grounding and rebalancing journey to help you breathe through any anxiety and worry that is currently surfacing in the mind and body.
As we begin this practice,
Start by allowing yourself to settle,
Whatever this might look or feel like for you in this moment.
This guided meditation will not require you to adopt a certain posture.
This practice will be all about pure comfort.
When you are ready,
Simply close your eyes and follow the natural knowing of your body.
Trust the natural guidance of your body to get as comfortable as possible in preparation for us to begin this meditation together.
Once you are nestled into your physical space,
I invite you to turn inwards and gently place your awareness on the breath.
There is no need to worry or fixate on the rhythm and flow of your breath.
Simply trust that your body knows exactly what it is doing as it follows the original blueprint from the very beginning of time.
This blueprint holds all the wisdom and knowledge needed to support you and to keep you safe from harm.
All you have to do is trust.
As you become aware of your breathing,
I invite you to gently slow and lengthen each and every inhale and exhale,
Taking a slight pause in between.
Simply follow whatever feels good and comfortable for you.
As your lungs fill with fresh,
Pure and healing oxygen and in turn release all that the body no longer needs,
Allow yourself to breathe into an open heart and an open mind,
As if a wave of trust is washing over you that your body knows exactly what you need here and now in this moment.
As you settle deeper and deeper into this safe space,
I invite you to visualise yourself walking down a beautiful woodland path.
As you walk,
You notice that the nature that surrounds you is truly beautiful.
The sun is shining and its warmth feels like home as it touches your skin.
As you look ahead,
You can see blue skies and the glimpse of the most breathtaking view.
Your body fills with awe and gratitude as you get closer and closer and the view becomes clearer and clearer.
With only a few steps to go,
You realise that you are in fact approaching a hot air balloon,
That patiently at the very end of the path as if it has been waiting there just for you.
The balloon itself is the most beautiful bright white colour and it glistens as it reflects the sun's rays for miles all around you.
You have never seen anything so beautiful.
As you approach the hot air balloon,
You realise it has your name written on the side of the basket and in all four corners there are heavy bags of sand weighing it down to the ground.
Your heart is drawn to the hot air balloon and the inner knowing of your body leaves you with no doubt that it is safe,
That today you were meant to take this journey,
So skilfully and confidently you climb inside.
Once you are inside,
You realise that you can see the view even better than before.
It might be the most beautiful thing you have ever seen.
All you need to do now is release the hot air balloon so that you can float off into the sky.
As you approach each corner of the basket and peer over the side,
You realise that each sandbag is inscribed with your greatest worries and causes of anxiety.
The bags look full,
Dark and heavy as they weigh the hot air balloon down.
It is in this moment that you realise that to get to where you want to go,
To be free in the sky of joy,
Peace and happiness with the most beautiful view before you,
You have to let them go.
One by one you untie the heavy bags of sand.
You say,
Thank you,
But I no longer need you,
I choose to let go.
As each of the sandbags falls to the ground,
The hot air balloon inches higher and higher into the cloudless blue sky.
Perfectly balanced,
It supports you as you let go of what no longer serves you.
You continue to untie the bags,
Watching your worries,
Fears and anxiety fall to the ground beneath you.
You continue to repeat the healing words,
Thank you,
But I no longer need you,
I choose to let go.
With each bag that falls,
A weight feels like it has been lifted from your shoulders.
Your body seems to be expanding,
Your breath deepening,
Your heart rate slowing,
Your mind feels clear and free and you feel light,
Tall and strong.
The last sandbag,
The one which will set you free once and for all,
Is the heaviest and fullest of them all.
It is the final thing you need to let go.
Trusting that in letting go you will be guided and supported to journey exactly where you need to go,
You untie the final sandbag.
You watch as it falls through the air and lands with a gentle thud as it hits the ground.
You watch as the trees and the path beneath you get smaller and smaller to reveal the most beautiful meadow full of flowers and a lake.
As you rise higher in the reflection of the lake's water you see yourself gliding effortlessly above the trees through the cloudless sky and you can see yourself smiling,
Free from all that previously weighed you down.
As you glide you look out at the world before you and you feel nothing but peace,
Joy and freedom.
You may not know exactly where you are going but you know deep inside that you have everything you need.
You are whole,
You are supported,
You are free.
