This three-part series is on how to interrupt the shoulds through relaxing,
Releasing,
And trusting.
Because trust is so essential.
Because the shoulds are based in doubt and judgment.
And if you're resting in yourself and trusting yourself,
You will not fall prey to the shoulds.
The shoulds are also based in conditioning and fear.
So,
Let's start in this part one of the series with deep relaxation.
So,
Dear friend,
I am very happy you're here and that you have chosen to take this time for yourself,
This precious time for yourself.
Beginning by closing the eyes.
Close your eyes.
Let your body get really,
Really comfortable.
It's important that the body is at ease.
So,
Adjust your cushions.
Wiggle your toes.
And then relax the shoulders.
Relax the shoulders.
And take some nice breaths.
See if you can breathe naturally.
Breathe naturally.
That's right.
Breathe with ease.
Many of us lead very busy lives.
So,
Taking this time to relax,
To connect with yourself at the deepest level is essential.
Setting aside all of the busyness,
All of the tasks that may be on your list just for the time being.
Setting everything aside so that you can offer all of your attention,
Your precious attention to yourself.
Breathing and just allowing for the natural rhythm of your breath.
Noticing how the breath rises and falls.
It rises and falls.
Every breath is an invitation to soften,
To let the muscles relax,
The tissues.
Just letting everything relax.
Every breath is taking you in deeper to the silence that resides within.
And during these generous pauses where there are no words to listen to,
See if you can sink in,
In and down,
In and down.
It may take a while for the thoughts,
For the busyness,
For the activity to slow down.
And the good news is that there is no rush.
There's no rush,
My friend.
Even if the world is rushing by and there's so much activity,
It's possible for you to relax,
To slow way down and drop into silence.
And if you realize that your mind has started to wander,
You can just very gently and kindly bring your awareness back to this breath,
This moment and relax even deeper.
Relaxation and resting into silence are the foundation for finding freedom from shoulds,
Releasing them.
Resting into silence,
Relaxing.
Silence is trustworthy.
You are trustworthy.
Taking a few more breaths and resting even deeper into silence as we approach the completion of this meditation of part one of this three-part meditation series.
And even when the meditation is complete,
You are welcome to rest here and relax deeper and deeper.
