Welcome,
To begin I invite you to lie down comfortably,
Allow the arms to rest by your sides,
The palms facing up if that feels comfortable and let the legs fall naturally,
Gently close the eyes and take a slow breath in through the nose and a sigh out through the mouth,
Again slow breath in and a soft exhale and as you continue to breathe like this,
Slow breath in,
Followed by a soft exhale,
Allow the body to begin switching into rest mode,
There's nothing you need to do right now,
No effort required,
Just listening,
Just allowing and bring your attention to your breath now,
Allowing the breath to become slow and easy,
Imagine each exhale signaling to the nervous system that it's safe to relax and now we'll slowly guide attention through the body without moving anything,
Simply noticing,
Bring awareness to the forehead,
Allowing the muscles here to soften,
Then the eyes,
Let the eyes sink back into their sockets,
Relax the jaw,
Allow the tongue to rest,
Now bring awareness to the neck and the shoulders,
Allow the shoulders to drop slightly heavier as if gravity is gently pulling them down,
Now down through the arms,
Forearms,
Notice the palms,
The fingers,
Allow them to become still,
Now bring awareness to the chest,
Feel the slow movement of breathing,
The gentle rise and fall,
Bring awareness to the belly,
Allow the belly to soften completely,
Nothing to hold,
Nothing to control,
Now down into the hips,
All the way down to the feet,
Notice the heels,
The soles,
The toes,
And now feel the entire body resting,
Supported and still,
And for the next few moments,
Simply allow the body to drift deeper into rest,
If the mind wanders,
That's completely natural,
Just return your attention to the feeling of the body lying here,
Breathing slowly,
Letting the exhale be slightly longer than the inhale,
Allow the nervous system to settle even further,
Resting,
Recovering,
Resetting,
Take one deeper breath right now,
Letting go,
And begin gently bringing small movements back into the body,
Wiggling the fingers,
The toes,
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Carrying this sense of calm with you,
