Often we think we know, but when we look deeper, it's not always that easy. Welcome to Day 32,

Your True Needs.

You have received another day on planet Earth.

Let's land on the ground,

Become aware of your body,

Your weight and posture,

Your breath,

Moments of inhalation and exhalation.

Become aware of all the sights,

Sounds,

Thoughts and feelings inside you and around you.

Become your awareness.

You are a vessel for all experiences.

What do you really need right now?

We do so many things because we believe on some level that yes,

I really do need this now.

I really do need this money,

This job,

This house,

This habit of mine,

This cigarette,

This cookie,

This Facebook swipe.

What happens if you just rest?

Rest in the power of stillness,

Your breath,

Letting things slow down.

Sometimes we distract ourselves from some inner pain or discomfort by using screens or eating crap.

This is part of our armour,

Part of the disconnection and it's also part of our mission here in the journey to dismantle this armour,

To free ourselves from these needs so that we can focus on our real needs.

Clean water,

Air,

Friendship,

Rest,

Meaningfulness,

Creativity,

Peace,

Love and happiness.

Ask yourself the next time you feel a weak discomfort in your body and begin an activity of some kind.

Do I really need to do this now?

Could I begin with a micro break,

Feel into my breath?

Or could I find some support in other ways?

A hug,

Ask for a helping hand or a hot bath?

Notice how your needs can switch after some restful breaths.

And listen to the timeless wisdom of Baloo,

The jungle bear.

Don't spend your time looking around for something you want that can't be found.

When you find out you can live without it and go along not thinking about it,

I'll tell you something true.

The bare necessities of life will come to you.

This instructor always has a wise message๐ŸŒž. My only complaint is about the audio volume of many in this series: it is set too low, making headphones necessary.
