Welcome.
As we begin our journey today,
Please find yourself a safe and comfortable space in a comfortable position of your choosing,
Whether you are laying down or sitting up,
Using any kind of supports that you wish for your body.
This meditation is best done with headphones and if you are using this meditation for sleep,
Please choose whatever position in your bed you wish.
We are going to begin by closing our eyes and just taking in three or four nice deep breaths.
Nice and slow,
Nice and deep and just noticing where the breath goes as you breathe,
Noticing where the breath connects to in your body.
And then we are going to begin at the top of our heads and as we begin to bring our focus and our awareness into the top of our heads,
We are just noticing the sensation as we bring our awareness there and then we are just going to give permission for the top of our head to relax.
And as it relaxes,
We just sink into our bodies a little deeper and we feel this beautiful,
Soft relaxation moving down from the top of the head,
Melting through the forehead,
The sides of the head and just a little bit down the back of the head,
All even,
Melting as you sink even deeper into your body.
Feeling this relaxation move through the eyes,
Through the ears,
Down through the nose and into the mouth,
Relaxing the tongue,
Relaxing the jaw.
If your jaw is clenched,
It very slowly and softly becomes unhinged.
And as you continue to feel this relaxation move down to your body,
You sink in deeper and deeper,
Really giving permission for each muscle in each area of your body to relax even more.
And as you feel this relaxation deeper and deeper,
You notice the breath slow down,
You notice the body organically breathing itself.
The body knows how to breathe itself.
Feeling this relaxation melt down through the chin,
Down and along through the neck and the throat,
The back of the neck,
Sinking in deeper as you feel those muscles relax.
And as this beautiful relaxation moves along the top of the shoulders,
Melting all your worries away.
Anything that you carry on your shoulders for now melts away and you sink in even deeper.
And as you sink in even deeper,
You feel that relaxation slowly move down through your shoulders,
Right down the arm and into the fingertips.
And as it does that,
Each muscle that it touches,
Let's go and relaxes.
Feeling this relaxation move down through the chest and the upper back,
Softly,
Quietly,
Gently caressing as it moves down through your body,
Through the solar plexus in the mid back.
And you sink even deeper,
Knowing that all of you is safe here.
Feeling this relaxation move through the sides of your body,
The sides of your torso,
Through the stomach,
The abdomen and the lower back.
As you continue to relax and you continue to sink deeper within your own self,
Again,
Giving permission for your body to just let go and relax deeper through the hips,
Relaxing the hips,
Relaxing the tailbone right into your seat,
Moving into the thighs and really bring the breath into the thighs.
Feel your breath move into the thighs as you really deeply give them permission to relax through the knee,
Melting deeper and deeper through the calf and the shin,
All the way down through your feet and beyond.
And then just bringing your awareness into your full body and just again giving permission for your full body to relax,
Sinking deeper and deeper and just noticing what it's like to feel your full body completely relaxed inside,
Outside.
