Welcome to this guided chakra meditation.
Thank you for being here and I'm so glad you've taken this time for yourself today.
The chakras are energy centers in the body,
Each one associated with different aspects of our physical,
Emotional and mental well-being.
When we bring awareness to these centers through the breath,
Visualization and simply pausing to tune in,
We help to create the conditions to feel more grounded and present,
Release tension in the body and reconnect with a sense of inner calm and wholeness.
There is nothing you need to do or achieve here,
This time is simply for you.
Find a comfortable position either lying down or seated wherever the body feels most at ease.
Allow yourself to feel fully supported and when you're ready allow your eyes to soften or close.
Now bring your awareness to the points of contact between your body and the surface beneath you,
The back of the head,
Shoulders,
Upper back,
Hips,
Legs and heels.
Take an easy breath in through the nose and an easy breath out.
Let the breath fall into its own natural rhythm,
Nothing to change or control.
Just simply notice the wave of the inhale and the release of the exhale.
Invite your awareness to the base of your spine where the root chakra lives,
Where we feel safety,
Our sense of stability and our sense of belonging.
Imagine a soft red light glowing here,
Spreading gently into the hips,
Pelvis and legs.
See or sense this red color in whatever way it appears to you,
Bright or muted,
Steady or pulsing.
With each inhale perhaps the red light becomes a little more present,
The body a little steadier.
With each exhale it spreads down through the legs all the way to the soles of the feet.
Rest in this red light,
Feeling grounded,
Supported and connected to the earth beneath you.
Let your awareness drift up to the low belly,
Just above the navel,
Home of the sacral chakra,
Our place of creativity,
Sensuality and the capacity to feel and flow with emotion.
Imagine a warm orange light glowing here,
Filling the pelvis and the bowl of the hips.
See or sense this orange color in whatever way it appears for you,
Soft or vivid,
Still or gently moving.
With each inhale the orange light glows a little bit brighter,
Perhaps the body feels a little more fluid.
With each exhale,
Imagine this light spreading through the hips and the lower belly,
Easing any tightness or tension.
Allow your being to rest in this orange light.
Now bring your awareness to the center of your abdomen,
Between the navel and the lower ribs,
Where the solar plexus chakra lives.
This is our seat of confidence,
Willpower and the energy to act.
Imagine a clear yellow light glowing here,
Like a gentle sun at your center.
See or sense this yellow in any way it appears to you,
Bright or soft,
Steady or flickering.
With each inhale,
Perhaps sensing the yellow light grow a little bit stronger.
And with each exhale,
Feeling that light radiate through the waist and the lower ribs,
Softening any self-doubt.
Rest in this yellow light,
As if you are warmed from within by your own strength.
Let your awareness lift into the center of your chest,
The heart chakra,
Our center of love,
Compassion and connection.
Imagine a soft green light glowing here,
Filling the chest and the spaces around the heart.
See or sense this green light in any way it appears to you,
Pale or deep,
Spacious or contained.
With each inhale,
Perhaps this green light expands across the chest,
Into the shoulders and down into the arms.
With each exhale,
Imagining this light wrap around you like a hug.
Rest in this green light,
Just the sense of being held.
Bring your awareness to the throat,
Where the throat chakra rests,
Our center of expression,
Honest communication and speaking our truth.
Imagine a clear blue light glowing here,
Surrounding the throat,
Jaw and neck.
See or sense this blue,
However it appears,
Bright like the sky,
Deep blue like the water,
Or perhaps just a wash of colors.
With each inhale,
Feel this blue light become a little clearer.
And with each exhale,
Invited to soften any tightness in the throat,
The jaw and the back of the neck.
Rest in this blue light,
As if your true voice is welcomed,
Even in silence.
Let your awareness move to the space between your eyebrows,
To the third eye chakra,
Our center of intuition,
Inner vision and clear insight.
Imagine an indigo light glowing here,
A deep blue purple in the center of the forehead.
See or sense this indigo light in any way it appears.
As a point between the eyes,
As big as a field,
Or as spacious as the whole night sky.
With each inhale,
Feel this indigo light grow a little more vivid.
And with each exhale,
Feel it spread through the forehead and the temples,
Behind the eyes,
Inviting the mind to feel a little clearer.
Rest in this indigo light,
As though you are looking into a calm,
Spacious inner sky.
Bring your awareness to the very top of your head,
Where the crown chakra lives,
Our center of spacious awareness,
Wisdom and connection with something larger than ourselves.
Imagine a soft violet light growing here,
Just at or above the crown.
See or sense this light in whatever way it appears.
Subtle or bright.
Close or expanding outwards.
With each inhale,
Feel this light become a little more present.
And with each exhale,
Feel it pour down through the whole body,
From head to toes,
Like a gentle waterfall.
Rest in this violet light,
Feeling connected to yourself,
To the earth.
To something larger than yourself.
Now see if you can sense all of the colors present at once,
From the base of the spine to the crown of the head.
Red at the root.
Orange in the lower belly.
Yellow at the solar plexus.
Green at the heart.
Blue at the throat.
Indigo at the third eye.
And violet at the crown.
Imagine a gentle rainbow,
With all the colors shimmering within it.
Breathe as if this rainbow of colors is breathing with you.
Expanding as you inhale.
And settling as you exhale.
Begin to let the colors soften now,
As if they are gently dissolving into a warm light filling your whole body.
Start to notice the weight of your body again.
The support beneath you.
And the sounds in the room.
Feel your breath in the chest and in the belly.
Invite some small movements into the fingers and the toes.
Maybe roll the wrists and ankles.
Or gently rock the head from side to side.
If you like,
Draw the knees in towards the chest and roll to one side.
Posing for just a moment.
As if you are waking up from a deep nourishing rest.
When you are ready,
Slowly come up to a comfortable seated position.
Or maybe just stay where you are.
Take a final easy breath in.
And a long breath out.
I hope this practice has brought you a little more ease and balance today.
Take care of yourself.
And thank you for practicing with me.
