This lesson is about the heart chakra.

This is the biggest and most sensitive chakra.

It's located in the center of the chest,

Not directly over the physical heart,

Which is on the left side.

The heart chakra reaches out to the front and the back.

Its energy is expressed in the health of the lungs,

Heart,

And the upper back.

This has two colors,

Green and pink.

There are two colors for the heart chakra because there are two main aspects of the way its energy is applied.

This chakra is about love.

It's about the balance between giving and receiving love and care.

The green color is about for yourself,

Loving yourself,

Self-esteem versus self-limiting beliefs or beating yourself up.

You get it.

The pink aspect is about the balance of giving and receiving care for others.

This is about those we care for,

Our children,

Maybe our parents or our patients or clients or the children that teachers care for,

Caregivers of all kinds,

Plus friendship.

Many of us are overtaxed on the giving side and underserved on the receiving side.

Luckily,

The heart chakra can receive lots of healing from the earth.

So grounding,

Getting out for a walk in the woods or along the beach,

Going kayaking like I love to do,

Or any nature time is very beneficial for the heart chakra.

Also,

Of course,

Receiving love,

Self-care,

Taking some time for you,

These are good heart chakra replenishing activities as well.

Green foods are especially great for the heart chakra.

There's lots of green foods,

Especially leafy greens,

Vegetables,

And the like.

And also surrounding yourself with green,

Another reason that the earth is very healing for the heart chakra.

I'm going to teach you a simple but powerful tool to help replenish your heart chakra with energy.

This exercise puts you directly in touch with love,

And it allows it to directly affect your heart chakra.

And you can do this anytime,

Anywhere,

In just a few minutes.

All you need to do,

And you can try it with me right now if you'd like,

Sit quietly and think about someone you love or people you love.

Think about them in such a way that you feel the love inside of you.

You feel the feeling of loving them.

And with this feeling,

Once you have it,

You reach out to their heart from yours.

You're creating a connection of light,

Just sending this beautiful love that you feel to them.

Completely bathe your system in the feeling of love.

When we do this,

The whole emotional state that we are becomes grateful and happy,

Which changes the way the autonomic nervous system responds.

It brings it into a very nice place where it activates the process of healing.

It regulates the heart rate and helps deflect stress.

Even three to five minutes of just sitting and feeling love is an amazing way to start.

And if you do this once today,

That's fine.

But try repeating it more than once for bonus points.

Remember,

You'll never regret the time you spent feeling love in your life.

So more is better.

Here's how to power up this tool.

At random times today,

You can reflect on this feeling and revisit it,

Even just for 30 seconds.

Each time you do that,

You are reinforcing the healing power of love.

Some other things that are healing for the heart chakra include hugging a tree,

Laying on the ground,

And hugging another person for at least 30 seconds.

Let me tell you,

30 seconds feels like a long time because most people's hugs are just too short to do any good.

A hug of at least 20 seconds,

But more is better,

Will activate oxytocin in the hormone system,

Which is a hormone that turns off the stress response.

And it also feels really nice.

You increase a loving bond with the person you're sharing the hug with,

And it's good for them too.

So yeah,

This is a bonus tool in this lesson.

Heal the heart chakra with hugs.
