This is Renée and this is a somatic meditation.
The background sounds that you'll hear during this meditation were made collaboratively by myself and Jean-Paul Jenkins.

The name of this meditation is Healing Dreams,
And I've heard from a lot of people that my voice and the meditations I offer help folks fall asleep,
And that is just wonderful.
I'm so glad that I can provide that.
Sleep is so important,
And when we sleep,
Our minds can open.
We can move into different parts of our awareness and consciousness because we're not focused on doing and dealing with information in a very materialistic and practical way.
Then our consciousness can move into the more receptive spaces.
And I'm resisting using the word work,
So I'll say it's more of an activity.
We become more active in other parts of our beings,
The dream body or the psychic body,
And the parts of ourselves that I'll say are more subtle than the material realm get to express and integrate and connect.
So this meditation is an exploration of subtle vibrations,
Subtle body,
And I'll use guided awareness and its felt sense awareness through different locations in your body.
And the location sometimes will be specific and sometimes they'll be vague.
If you notice that your mind gets very active looking for where the location is and you start to think a lot,
Like,
Is this right?
Let it go.
Whatever the first impulse is and how you respond to what I offer is correct.
So my voice and the music that you'll hear is a container and you can drift in and out and sometimes what you hear will be really important and it'll stimulate something for you and sometimes what you hear will be more in the background.
And whatever your awareness is resting on in the moment is the perfect thing for it to be resting on.
But as I said,
Allow your awareness to be soft.
And if you notice that your mind is leaping into some kind of place that feels like efforting,
Breathe,
Relax,
Come back into a space of non-doing.
And any shape that you want to be in for this meditation is the right shape.
I'd suggest and request though that you do this meditation in a time and place where you can really be with it.
So while some of the meditations I offer might be good for practicing when you're kind of out in the world,
This one is a very internal experience.
And it's not that you can't bring it out into the world,
But the first time you do it for sure just do it with a lot of space.
And for me,
The meditation can bring up sensation that needs to get expressed.
So allow yourself to move and to express as you need.
And that might mean that your body moves around.
It might mean that you make sounds.
It could be that you cry or that other kinds of expressions move through.
And whatever is arising,
Just know that that's exactly the right thing to be arising in the moment.
And you don't need to identify with it.
You don't need to try and understand or explain it.
And also you don't need to push it away or deny it.
Just feel it.
And if you fall asleep,
That's great.
Know that you're doing this meditation in your dream space.
All right.
So do whatever you need to make yourself comfortable.
And then when you're ready,
We'll begin.
We'll just start by breathing.
And there is nothing to do other than notice that you're breathing.
The nature of consciousness is that whenever there's consciousness,
Something becomes aware of itself.
So your breath is a form that has its own consciousness.
And as you turn your mind,
You're listening and you're watching towards your breath,
It will naturally change.
And with your attention,
Its expression will shift.
Follow whatever you know you need.
Allowing deeper breaths,
Allowing sighs out on the exhale.
You may feel the need to move or stretch and invite your breath into different places.
As your awareness stays with your breath,
Start to imagine its shape.
And the shape of the breath is kind of like a three dimensional object inside of your body,
Though it may also extend out beyond the periphery of your skin into the space around you.
But notice how each inhale has its own shape and each exhale has its own shape.
And you might see the shape and pattern of your breath in a lot of different ways.
It may be more of a sensation than an image.
The image that I'm working with is my breath is kind of like the shape of water.
And the completion of my inhalations and my exhalations are the container for the movement of my breath,
Which is the shape of water.
So just like a wave might swell and rise and move,
Or the ripples in a pond might migrate from one side to another.
Begin to sense the shape of your inner sea.
Imagine if you might feel your breath like fluid with its own weight and its own momentum moving and rolling and rippling into the different parts of your body,
Maybe around and outside your body.
Then get curious about the basin of your belly and the bowl of your pelvis.
And if you don't already feel your breath in this part of your body,
Invite it in.
Invite the touch of your breath all the way down to the front side of your sacrum,
The base of your spine and the tip of your tailbone.
If you notice that there is clenching in the pelvic floor or your genital muscles,
Try and relax.
As your breath moves all the way down into the base of your torso,
The base of your spine,
The base of your belly,
Into your pelvis and then below it,
Imagine a shape.
Imagine a shape that is just between the very tip end of your spine and of your two sit bones and your genitals.
And this place is called your perineum in your body.
And you're imagining a shape that's just outside of it.
Just outside the surface of your skin.
And the shape that I'm seeing is kind of a prism,
A multi-sided shape like a crystal that's collecting and reflecting light.
And I can't really tell if the light originates from within it or is somehow gathered from outside of it.
And if that imagery works for you,
Or if you have another image in your mind,
Just see it see all the way around its shape.
And then imagine that that is where your breath begins.
And so the swell of your breath originates and expands from this place and then anchors back into it.
And now start to let the sensation of that breath migrate upwards into your body.
And if you can imagine the space that's between the front and the back of your body and the height is kind of just about the middle of your sacrum or a couple of inches below your belly button.
And this place also has a shape,
Maybe similar to the previous shape,
Maybe different.
The previous shape is still there.
And now this new shape is starting to express an expansion and then an anchoring with your inhalations and your exhalations.
And allow the movement of your breath to spread and spill out into your low belly from this central node or central shape.
Feel the touch of your breath in the backside of your low abdomen in the front side of your low back.
And if the shape feels very central,
Then imagine it spreading out into left and right and then beginning to pour down through the tubes of your legs.
And let your breath move into your hip joints and your knee spaces and your ankles and through into the soles of your feet and all of your toes.
And then feel it swell up and spread out through your entire belly and your entire abdomen.
And feel a new shape now a couple of inches above your belly button,
Again between your front and your back bodies.
And this shape like a sphere,
Maybe like a sun radiating out in every direction,
Filling the space around and behind and beside you.
And then can your breath move upwards and find the center of your chest,
A three dimensional shape around your heart,
Around your spine.
And allow this shape to rest with the support of all the previous shapes.
And you might see them all spinning or glowing or pulsing breathing.
And allow the shape in the center of your chest to expand and move and explore out into both shoulders,
Into the back,
To the front and up through the passage of your throat,
Into the opening of your mouth.
And whether you're breathing through your mouth or your nose,
Can you imagine now that the breath that you take in your actual inhale is pouring right down into the shape at the center of your chest.
And the shape in the center of your chest is pouring upwards and outwards through your throat,
Into the dome at the top of your throat,
Underneath the attachment of your tongue,
Through both sides of your mouth,
The upper and the lower teeth and then out.
And as you feel this connection in this passage,
Allow the center of your throat space to soften.
And you might see another shape where you might see light,
Maybe of many hues or colors.
And let that shape or that light expand through the center of your throat.
And as it expands,
There's kind of a movement and a swelling up into the center of your skull.
And a new shape is here,
Just behind your eyes,
Right in the center of your brain.
And allow your eyes to relax any tension they may be holding the eyelids and the eyebrows to soften.
And as you breathe,
Imagine this expansion from the center of your head,
Expanding all the way out into the container of your skull,
Maybe all the way out for miles in every direction.
And then let your awareness travel just a little further up and out and back.
And see if you can sense now into a space that is just behind and a little bit above the top of your skull.
And you can imagine or feel that the top of your skull more at the back than the front is softening and opening.
And as you breathe,
You're opening and sensing into this space.
And as you exhale that space is pouring in through the back dome of your skull.
And then all the way through and down and into the shapes that we've created and felt and sensed.
So you're breathing and expanding your awareness into the space behind and above you.
And as you exhale your awareness can just rest through the center of your skull and the center of your throat,
Your heart center,
Your solar center,
Your navel center,
Your pelvic center,
Down to this anchor that extends from the tip of your tailbone and the base of your body.
And maybe as you breathe all of these shapes all together all at once,
Turn each other,
Your movements spread out and around all the other shapes.
Keep letting this opening in the top back portion of your skull stay soft.
Feel again how the shape below your navel spreads into the left and into the right and how it pours through your hip joints,
Your knees,
To your ankles and your feet.
And now imagine that your whole body is suspended,
That you're held on all sides,
Kind of weightless.
And you could move in every direction equally with the mere thought,
The impulse.
So there's nothing to do except to feel the shape of your breath.
And as its shape moves through your body,
You might move.
And the movement inside of you and the movement outside of you become the same thing.
This is next.
You And if there's any way that you're still looking for a sensation or focusing at all now just let it go and feel into the most subtle even more subtle than your breath music Now open your eyes.
And if you've fallen asleep,
Then you're opening your eyes in a dream.
Looking around,
Noticing what's around you.
Orient yourself.
See colors.
See shapes.
Look down and find your body.
If you'd like to move your body,
Then notice the direction of your mind as it tells your body to move.
If there's no direction from the mind,
Then feel your body and invite it to move.
And from here you'll continue.
And you'll choose where you go next.
If you're completing this as a meditation,
Then take time to close your practice with intention.
If you're continuing into a dream or into your journal or drawing or moving or some other kind of practice,
Then go with yourself.
Let your attention and your subtle awareness travel wherever you explore.
