Hello and welcome to this guided meditation.

I'm Richard Willis and my voice will guide you in this thankfulness meditation,

A chance to soothe the mind with positivity through the practice of gratitude.

So make yourself comfy and just simply allow my voice to go with you as your mind is gently guided through this meditation.

So close your eyes and begin with a deep cleansing breath in and really let go as you exhale.

Then let your breathing settle into a natural rhythm and let the body settle too.

Allow the muscles to soften,

Feeling supported and grounded by the surface underneath you,

Body relaxing and mind relaxing.

So begin to focus your mind on thankfulness for just this moment.

A moment where you can relax and reflect in peace.

Reflect on how all the situations now playing out in the world have at least allowed you to take this important moment for calm contemplation and in whatever way feels appropriate for you.

Mentally say thank you for this moment.

Now focus on the material support around you.

Shelter,

Food,

Clean water,

Nature,

Transport,

Energy.

Reflect on all the systems around you.

Say thank you in your own way for this now.

Notice any positive feelings that arise in the body and embrace them as you say thank you.

Now think of the good people in your life and what they bring to you.

Companionship,

A listening ear,

A loving hug,

A helping hand.

In your own way say thank you to these people now,

Allowing any positive feelings to arise naturally.

Now focus on your ability to help others,

To serve and shine your own light on the world.

Think about how you've already given to others and the positive results it's brought.

Think about your ability to continue to help in big ways and small,

Even bringing someone a cup of tea or coffee.

Rest your attention on the power you have to make the world better bit by bit,

One cup at a time.

Spend some time now saying thank you for your ability to shine light on the world.

Well done.

Now open your eyes,

Bring your awareness fully back into your surroundings,

Into the present moment,

Knowing that you can always bring to mind thankfulness,

To give perspective and gratitude and use it to renew yourself,

Ready to shine more light on the world.
