Hello I'm Richard Willis and welcome to your mountain relaxation.

To begin with find a quiet comfortable place where you can relax.

You can do this sitting comfortably or lying down.

Just take a moment to get into a position where you feel supported and comfy.

Before we begin the main relaxation we'll do a simple settler to relax the body and mind.

So just close your eyes,

Close your eyes and take some deep breaths in through the nose and out through the nose.

With each breath really let go as you breathe out.

Imagine breathing out any tension.

Relax really letting go with each breath.

Then let your breathing settle into its own natural rhythm and notice how your body feels.

Become aware of the whole body.

Settling,

Resting and allow your muscles to relax.

Relax your face and jaw.

Releasing any tension.

Relax your neck and shoulder muscles.

Relax your arms and hands.

Relax your stomach muscles.

Allowing you to breathe freely and easily.

Relax your legs and feet.

Just letting your whole body relax.

Now allow your imagination to drift.

Drift and let an amazing scene emerge.

Imagine that you're walking a mountain path.

The path is wide and safe.

At just the right gentle incline to make it an easy walk.

Allowing you to admire the world around you.

And you have a view down into a lush valley on one side of you.

See the sights of nature around you.

Lit up by the Sun overhead.

The rich green of the grass clinging to the rocky mountainside.

The sound of the gentle wind as it glides through the valley.

Stirring nearby trees.

Feel of the path beneath your feet and the rhythm of your strides sending you ever upwards.

The warm sunlight.

Just the right temperature for you.

A wonderful feeling of being completely free.

Completely relaxed.

Be aware of the colors and shapes of nature all around you.

The sounds and the feel of the pleasant sensations in your body as you comfortably stroll along the path.

Notice the wildlife around you.

Birds small gentle animals that dart on and around the path.

Hear the subtle sounds they make.

The songs of nature.

See the birds feathers glistening in the sunlight as you admire their colors and texture.

You realize now that you've already climbed so high without even really noticing.

Gazing down at the distant green valley bottom as the path before you starts to curve.

You begin to hear the sound of running water.

The soothing sound of a nearby mountain stream.

As you round the bend a beautiful scene greets you.

You see a stream cutting across the path in front of you.

Pure crystal-clear water sparkling in the sun as it smoothly glides over rocks and over the edge of the mountain and beyond.

You see a magnificent vista.

Mountains stretching far into the distance as far as the eyes can see.

You can see the original valley joining with another as the landscape opens up and you can make out a river far below.

Lazily meandering into the misty distance.

Here at this beautiful spot rest,

Sit and take a drink from the mountain stream if you wish.

Feeling the cool water rush over your hand as you cup it and drink it.

So pure,

So refreshing.

You can take a seat on one of the large smooth rocks nearby.

Relax.

Gaze at the view.

Patches of sun and shadow highlighting the contours of the rocky mountainsides.

The shapes and colors of the forests in the valleys and the sight of a bright blue mineral rich lake in the distance.

If you want,

Lie back on the smooth stone.

Watch the clouds drift by against the deep blue of the sky.

Listen to the sounds,

The birds,

The leaves of the trees whispering in the breeze.

Feel the sun on your skin,

Relieved by a cool mountain breeze.

Catching the scent of pine and wild mountain flowers.

Take some time now to enjoy this moment with all your senses.

Enjoy the calm,

The peace.

Relax.

It'll be time to return from your mountain relaxation.

So use the power of your imagination to transport you back in whatever way feels appropriate for you.

Back to where your body is sitting or lying down.

Get a sense of the body,

A feeling of contact with whatever you're sitting or lying on.

And just bring a bit of movement back to the body.

Moving the fingers and toes.

And then open your eyes,

Open your eyes,

Bringing yourself fully back into your surroundings.

Take a nice stretch.

Bringing that great feeling of peace and relaxation with you.
