When we bring our awareness to our heart using the breath and remind ourselves of the inner innate qualities of the heart, love, kindness, gratitude, compassion (nyingje), our heart will naturally open like the blossoming of a flower. Our innate capacity for self-love and deep inner healing will come forth from its hidden depths. This guided meditation begins by eliciting a relaxation response in the nervous system through connecting to the stillness of the body, the silence in the mind, and the space of the heart. Then we are guided to remember the inner qualities of the heart, which help induce brain wave patterns of deep meditation and which have been demonstrated to aid in the healing of trauma and illness. This meditation includes readings of quotes from Ram Dass and Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.
