Today,

We are going to do a yoga nidra to meet our Healthy Habits Spirit Guide.

So before I continue,

Let's use our heads.

And if you are having symptoms,

Please consult your doctor.

And your Healthy Habits Spirit Guide would tell you this,

I am not a medical doctor and I have no medical training.

I am an Ayurvedic health counselor student.

I am also a professional yoga nidra facilitator.

But if you are having symptoms,

Please call your primary care physician.

So now,

Lay down,

Relax,

Cover your eyes with an eye pillow if you have one or even a sock will work really,

Really well or a blanket,

Whatever makes you comfortable.

And just go ahead and close your eyes.

And I invite you to take a deep breath in.

And to the count of four,

Breathing in one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold it.

And exhale to the count of five.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Exhale again to the count of four.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale to the count of five.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

And see if you can make yourself 10% more comfortable.

Make any adjustments that you need to,

To just be 10% more comfortable.

Stay with me and the sound of my voice as I guide you through this yoga nidra.

I'll watch the time.

And I will invite you to either stay where you are and I'll close our meeting or you can rise when we're done.

That is up to you.

But I watch the time and I will hold the space for you.

Breathing in to the count of four.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Breathing out to the count of five.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five.

Bring all your attention to the third eye.

The point in between your eyebrows and two to three inches back in your head.

Focus all of your attention there.

Stay with me and the sound of my voice as I guide you from point to point.

Bring all your attention to the third eye and stay there and look around you.

You're in a meadow.

It's a beautiful,

Beautiful summer day.

The temperature is just perfect and there's a light breeze.

What are you wearing?

Look at seeing what you have on.

Look around the meadow.

There's nothing in the meadow that you don't like.

Only flowers,

Birds,

And the bugs that you like.

You are completely safe.

Stay with the sound of my voice.

You begin to walk through this meadow and you can feel the grass hitting your legs.

Are you wearing shoes?

Are you barefoot?

You continue to walk and as you do,

You notice in front of you,

It looks like a forest.

You head toward it.

You're just drawn to this forest.

You come to the edge of the forest and you look in and there's a path.

You step onto the dirt path and the moment you walk into that forest,

It cools down.

You look up and you can see the sun filtering through the leaves and you can feel the breeze.

It's whistling right through the trees and through the leaves.

Look around you now.

Are there bushes?

Are there trees?

You're safe.

There's nothing in this forest you don't like.

You feel safe and happy and content and joyous and you can feel the joy seeping through your pores.

It is inside you,

Coming out of you,

Enveloping you as joy and you continue down the path.

And maybe you start to skip or maybe you stay walking or maybe you feel like running and everything is so alive and you stop and you look at this giant tree.

What kind of tree is it?

Look at the bark.

You can see the roots on the edge of the tree and that they crawl through the forest.

You feel one.

You're just one with the tree.

You touch its bark and you thank it for being so knowledgeable,

So wise.

The bark is rough but somehow familiar and friendly.

And you thank the tree and you keep walking.

It feels cool.

And suddenly you notice in front of you there's a building.

What kind of building is it?

Is it a house?

Is it a castle?

Is it a teepee or a mud hut?

What color is it?

Your curiosity is just pounding inside of you.

Walk up to the structure.

Does it have windows?

Is it made of stone or glass?

Does it have a porch or a deck or a moat or a drawbridge?

Does it just have stairs?

Are there flowers?

You can really look at it.

Get really clear on this building that is right in front of you in this forest.

As you're standing looking at the building,

You become very curious as to what is inside this building.

Is there anyone home?

You feel safe,

You don't feel threatened.

So you walk up to the door.

What kind of door is it?

Is there a doorbell?

Do you just knock at the door?

Is there a door knocker?

Is there even a door?

Is it just open?

Is it a flap?

Really take this door in.

Is this familiar to you?

Have you seen this before?

You go to knock on the door and it just opens.

And you kind of look inside.

And you're not scared.

It feels familiar.

You step into the building,

What kind of floor is it?

Is it stone?

Is it wood?

Is it glass?

Is it dirt?

You walk into the building.

You look around,

What's around you?

What's in this building?

Are there stairs that lead someplace?

Are there doors right in front of you?

Is it just open and vast?

Really look around.

Somehow you feel drawn in one direction and you're not sure why.

But you follow your instincts and you start heading down a hallway.

You feel totally safe.

Everybody is there to support you.

And as you're walking down this hallway,

You come to a door.

And on that door is a giant red cross.

And you say to yourself,

This is interesting.

Wow.

And you stop a second.

Do you knock on the door?

Is the door already open?

What's in there?

What's in that room?

Go ahead.

Open that door.

Nice and slow.

The door with the big red cross on it.

As you open the door,

You come to what looks like an office.

And there's a desk and a filing cabinet.

And there's someone sitting behind the desk in a big beautiful chair.

Who is it?

Do you know this person?

I have a feeling you've met them before.

And as you approach,

They stand up and they give you,

They walk around the table and they give you the biggest hug.

They say,

I am so glad to see you.

I have been wanting to talk to you.

And they point to a chair and they tell you to sit.

And you do sit in the chair and they sit in another chair across from you.

And they tell you that they are your healthy habits spirit guide.

And that they have been with you your whole life,

Guiding you in the best way they possibly can toward health and happiness and joy.

And they have something else to tell you too.

And they say that you can ask them any question you want.

So go ahead.

Ask this beautiful being anything you want.

And go ahead.

It's okay to ask as many questions as you have.

It's okay to stay.

Listen to what they have to tell you.

Be with your spirit,

God.

Be with your spirit,

God.

Listen to what they have to tell you.

Listen to what they have to tell you.

And now,

As you talk to your Spare God,

You give them a great big hug.

And they tell you that they love you.

And that they will continue to look out for you.

And you stand up and you walk over to the door.

And they say one last thing to you before you leave.

And you smile.

And you leave.

You walk out.

You shut the door behind you.

And you walk out of the building.

Down the stairs.

Back out to the forest.

You think about what your Spirit Guide said to you.

You should begin to walk home.

You feel amazing.

You say goodbye to the tree.

Goodbye to all the land moles that were in the forest that met you that day.

You step out of the forest and into the sunlight.

And you walk all the way back through the meadow,

Feeling the breeze on your skin.

In this most perfect,

Wonderful day.

Back to your third eye.

Starting to feel your fingers and your toes wiggle them gently.

And they come back to the room.

Or if you like,

You can stay right where you are.

If you like to journal,

You can journal about your experience and the lessons that your Healthy Habits Spirit Guide had for you tonight.

If you have any questions about anything that we discussed and would like to talk,

I'm here.

I'm going to hold space.

I'm going to gently come out of your yoga nidra.

Cool?

I enjoyed that journey through the forest and into the house to find my guide. I was surprised to find it was Mr A., who would not be a role model for physical health. But was the kindest person I ever knew. He died fairly young, probably as a result of poor health choices. But he was the first person in my life that I felt fully and unconditionally accepted and appreciated by from the first moment. Maybe that’s the best habit I could learn.
