Hey,

It's Doug.

This one's called Flower Meditation.

Get into a comfortable seat.

I know we say that all the time,

But I really mean it.

Nestle yourself into that seat.

Move your bum side to side,

As if it was clearing the earth to plant a flower.

Move your weight in circles in one way,

Then the other.

It's like you've carved out this perfect flower bed in whatever seat you're sitting on.

Now feel the weight of your body sink into this flower bed.

As you get settled and still,

Begin to take note of the warmth of that seat.

Take note of this connection to whatever you're sitting on.

That energy transfer of heat between you and the seat,

And between the seat and you.

Do you feel it?

Okay,

Good.

Take note now of any other parts of your body that are connected to the earth.

Could be your feet,

Could be your hands.

If you're laying down,

It may be your whole back,

Doesn't matter.

Whatever's connected to the earth,

I want you to imagine is now projecting into the earth,

As if they're roots.

And as those roots dive down into the earth,

They can start to feel the energy that the earth conveys.

They can start to feel the energy that the earth has.

These roots can now feel the attributes of permanence and security that the earth elucidates so well.

And now with each breath,

You can start to absorb these traits,

These nutrients.

Let them travel up into your body.

These feelings of permanence,

Security,

Safety,

Stability.

Now imagine those traits have come into your body through these roots,

And now they enter your spine.

And as they begin to make contact with your spinal cord,

You feel your spine growing taller,

Just like a flower.

With each breath,

That energy is pulled up through the ground into the base of your spine,

And then all the way up your spine.

Each exhale,

You gather up that energy from the earth.

And each inhale,

You take those attributes,

Those traits,

And you let it travel up the spine,

Making you taller and taller.

Each cycle of breath,

Making you feel more connected to the earth and more tall,

As if simultaneously your head is reaching up towards the sky and your roots are projecting down into the core of the earth.

Each breath making you simultaneously taller and deeper.

You can feel that warmth of your seat now,

The security and energy of the earth,

The growth of the spine.

With these elements in place,

Can you feel a level of confidence?

Can you use that confidence to explore your uniqueness,

The precious plant that you are,

The fantastic flower you've become?

Or maybe you're a frivolous fungi or a tremendous tree.

Whatever you are,

Feel it in your core,

Deep within you.

So can you feel it deep within you?

Can you use the breath once again to coax it out like a bud that's waiting to bloom?

Once again,

As you exhale,

Feel those roots gathering up the energy from the earth below you.

And then as you inhale,

Imagine taking that energy and nurturing that inner feeling of uniqueness.

Can you use that warmth of your seat to incubate that feeling?

Can you use that proud spine of yours like a stem to allow that uniqueness to build on,

To project out into the world?

Can you feel that special part of you starting to grow and blossom within you?

Tap into that.

Enjoy that.

That's what we're all waiting to see.

When you feel ready,

Begin to open your eyes,

Take in the room around you.

Notice that even though it may be unchanged,

You are.

Now go out into your day and make the world a more beautiful place,

Simply by being you.

If you enjoyed this,

Go check out my course,

How to Bloom This Spring.

There's more just like this.

Until then,

Namaste.
