Here you are at the start of a new day or a new hour.
Therapists meditating for even a few minutes before a session has been shown to increase client satisfaction with that session.
So for now,
Let go of thoughts,
Judgments,
Lists or expectations and allow your senses to help you land in the space surrounding you.
With eyes open or closed,
Take in the shapes and colors of what you see.
Breathe in the scent of the air.
Enjoy the sounds you hear.
I welcome you to settle into your chair.
Maybe lean back.
Feel the support of your chair behind you and under you.
Feel the ground beneath your feet.
Too often we may work from the edge of our seat,
Eager to perform,
Eager to meet goals,
Eager to usher in change.
But remember,
Everything you need to welcome healing is inside of you or available to you in this moment.
So savor the grounding and support here now.
And if it feels comfortable and appropriate for today,
Experiment with gently squeezing your shoulder blades back and down to ever so slightly open your heart.
As much or as little as feels right to you now.
And as you relax and open your heart,
Perhaps you become aware of light,
Energy,
Wisdom or love becoming more abundantly available to you.
Seal in this experience with three deep,
Slow breaths.
From this place,
Healing is inevitable.
