This meditation will be a five minute session focusing on the breath to bring a sense of ease and peace.
You can do it at any time and it will remind us to come back to the breath.
Start by slowly finding your seat in a comfortable,
Relaxed position.
Not rigid,
But upright.
Wait on the chair or seat.
Start by pulling you down.
Begin to breathe.
Identify the feelings of the breath as it comes in and goes out.
Find the breath,
The physical sensations,
The details of the breath.
As you breathe in,
Allow that sensation to fall over your body.
As you breathe out,
Allow that release to relax your body,
Your muscles.
Let any tension just dissolve into the earth.
We're not trying to get anywhere.
We're just doing our best to be where we are now,
Feeling the sense of breathing in the body.
When thoughts arise,
Identifying them and allowing them to just fade into the background,
Fade away like clouds in the sky to the best degree you can.
Coming back to the breath each time.
Again,
Thoughts are fine.
I'm not trying to get rid of the thoughts.
Settling in to the breath and the relaxation and ease that you get from paying attention to the breath.
As you feel that tension release and relaxation come over your body,
Remember that feeling.
Take a mental snapshot of what it's like to be at ease and at peace,
Present with the breath.
Keep that in the back of your mind for later in the day when you might need to draw upon it.
If even just a moment you stop and pay attention to the breath,
You can do a reset,
Release some tension,
Come back to the present moment,
Relax,
Breathe,
Recover that sense of ease and peace.
The breath is always there for us,
Whenever we need it.
