The throat chakra is located at our throat space. When it’s balanced, we are able to express ourselves more freely and listen with more understanding. In this meditation, we focus on balancing this space with mindfulness, breathwork and imagery.

Transcript

Welcome to the throat chakra meditation.

I invite you to come into a comfortable seat or you may recline for this practice.

Begin to gently close the eyes or soften the gaze down and out in front of you.

Take a moment to tap into your breath and notice the inhales and exhales.

With your next round of breath exhale all of the air and begin to inhale for the count of one,

Two,

Three,

Pause.

And exhale one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Inhale one,

Two,

Three,

Pause.

Exhale one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Inhale one,

Two,

Three,

Pause.

Exhale one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

Continue with this pattern or return to your own.

Draw your attention to your throat space.

When this chakra is in balance it allows for us to speak our truth.

Imagine a bright blue shiny ball of light radiating here.

Notice how it shrinks with each inhale and expands with each exhale.

The light begins to fade as you inhale and becomes brighter with each exhale,

Allowing it to radiate throughout this space.

As you inhale you may say,

My voice matters and with each exhale I speak my truth.

My voice matters.

I speak my truth.

My voice matters.

I speak my truth.

As you continue with each round of breath allow yourself to speak your truth to someone that it's been hard to do so with.

Allow your bright blue ball of light to expand to them lovingly.

Envision this person being open to what it is that you have to say.

Feel the freedom of release as you exhale.

My voice matters.

I speak my truth.

My voice matters.

I speak my truth.

My voice matters.

I speak my truth.

If accessible,

I encourage you to place,

Gently place your hand at your throat chakra and the other hand in your heart space,

Reminding yourself that as you speak your truth,

You speak it in love.

My voice matters.

I speak my truth.

Begin to bring your awareness back to your breath.

Taking a moment to observe it.

Add in some gentle movement to the body.

Start to open your eyes,

If not already.

Again repeat one more time.

My voice matters.

I speak my truth.

Thank you for joining me in a throat chakra meditation.
