Welcome,

Dear one.

This one is for the heart from the heart.

So I invite you to just find a comfortable,

Supported space to rest in.

And when you feel ready,

Close down the eyes and simply receive these words.

Dear tired,

Weary heart,

I have forgotten you.

You were hidden under the logical wanderings of the mind when all you hoped for was for me to listen.

But I'm here now.

It's easy to overlook your tenderness as you patiently wait for me to pause for even a brief moment from the dance with my constant rumination.

But I'm here now.

For you are the softness I search for and the entangled stories I create.

You are the steady tether carrying me through.

You are the vulnerable piece of me,

Reminding me it's okay to feel this one out.

Though quiet,

You urge me to remember you when I come against the boundaries of my skin.

Those self-perceived limitations I impose on myself when I feel the call that I am so much more.

I'm ready to come home to you.

I'm ready to let go of living in my head and instead turn toward the way of you,

My heart.

It takes courage to listen to this part of me,

For when I look around,

The mind is held high in this world.

But that courage came with the first beat and first breath when you arrived here.

Bring your soft open palms to the space of your heart and drop into this quieter piece of you.

Maybe you can feel its subtle beats or the way breath wraps around it in a loving embrace.

Get still and listen to the rhythm that it speaks.

Hold it here in knowing that you are allowed to soften the edges of its cage.

You are allowed to recognize its beats are a part of your humanness.

You are allowed to offer it grace and compassion when it gets tired and weary.

Unravel here,

The weight you've been carrying upon your shoulders,

Blocking that space between the head and the heart.

Unravel here,

The resistance you feel at the edges of your skin when you are searching for more.

Unravel here,

The stories constricting the flow,

The path,

The knowing from within.

Gather back in,

This piece of you long forgotten.

Take one nurturing breath in and one releasing breath out.

Let every breath fill you up from the core of who you are all the way to the space of your heart.

Welcome back in a gentleness,

An ease.

Let go of force and control.

Simply breathe here now.

Let every breath wrap itself around you lovingly,

Reminding you this rhythm is what carries you through,

Not the constant ruminations of the mind.

Keep breathing like this for several intentional cycles of breath.

Feel the rise and fall beneath your palms.

Tend to your tender heart.

And deeper in its presence.

One breath in,

One breath out.

Notice how you have the ability to welcome softness back into the fold.

This is why we practice,

To embody a new way of being.

What is that new heart centered why for you?

What did you hear?

What did you remember when you dropped back into your heart?

Let it be the tether for today and beyond.

Be here as long and as many times as you need,

For the heart always will welcome you back.

Truly poetic, and not just the poet at the beginning itself. I felt touched.

Loren is a beautifully intuitive poet and guide on this sacred journey of presence and peace. Time spent with her is always gentle and supportive, and this meditation is a beautiful reminder to breathe mindfully and allow the thinking mind to drop away as she guides us ever more deeply into our own hearts.
