And welcome to another session of Silent Superheroes,
Where we're learning how to grow our real-world superpowers.
I know when I was a kid,
I used to love watching superhero movies.
They were super strong and super fast and super brave,
And they had magic powers.
And I was always like,
Man,
I wish I had magic powers.
I wish I could be a superhero too.
But then I became a little bit disappointed because I realized that those superpowers that I'm seeing in those shows,
In the cartoons and in the books,
All that were fun to watch,
They weren't really real.
And I was like,
Oh,
I wish I could be a real superpower.
I wish superpowers really existed.
But now do you know what?
Now I realize that there are superpowers we can get in our world.
There are ways that we can be a superhero right now.
So I thought it would be a good idea to tell you what those superpowers are and how we can get them.
Are you ready?
So the way to get superpowers is to do meditation,
Is to do calm breathing.
And really,
It's just to be able to sit in silence.
I know that sounds a little bit crazy.
I know it sounds a little bit odd.
But if we're able to sit in silence,
Do you know what we can do?
We get super focus powers.
We're able to focus ourselves on a task and stick with it.
And do you know what that means?
It means that we can play for longer.
It means we can enjoy ourselves for longer.
It means we can create and do and have so much more fun because we're super focused.
Rather than just bouncing around like crazy monkeys,
We'll learn how to sit still and focus and do the thing we love.
Doesn't that sound like an awesome idea?
To get the superpower of focus?
Oh,
I know I want to get the superpower of focus.
Now I was thinking,
There's not just the superpower of focus.
There's a couple more superpowers we can get.
Let me tell you about them.
The next superpower,
And I think one of the most important superpowers is the superpower of calm,
Of chill.
How many times have you been playing or been just hanging around in your home or at school or at kinder and all of a sudden you find yourself getting really,
Really,
Really,
Really mad?
And maybe you get so mad that you threw something or maybe even hit someone or yelled or screamed.
The teacher or your parents got a little bit upset with you.
They got a little bit upset with the situation there.
Then you had to stop doing what you wanted to do.
You didn't get what you wanted because you were so angry,
So frustrated that you couldn't explain yourself.
Well,
Let me tell you,
The more you sit in silence,
The more you meditate with me,
The better you'll feel,
The more calmer you will feel.
You'll be able to take a slow,
Deep,
Calm breath,
And you'll be able to explain yourself.
If you can use your words to explain yourself,
If you can talk,
My goodness,
You'll be able to get more of what you want because you'll be able to say,
Hey,
This is what I meant to have happen.
Or do you think we could do this thing?
Rather than yelling and screaming,
We'll get the superpower of calm,
And that'll allow us to talk,
And then we'll be able to do and think and say what we want to without losing control.
Doesn't that sound lovely?
So let's grow our superpowers together right now.
What we're going to do is spend just one minute,
Just one minute doing calm,
Slow breathing.
So get yourself nice and comfortable,
Take a seat or lay down and start doing some breathing with me.
If you want,
You can close your eyes,
But that's up to you.
Are you ready?
Take a long,
Slow breath in through the nose and out through the mouth,
And I'll let you know when we're finished.
Let's do it.

Well,
Little superhero,
That was so,
So good.
I'm going to let you in on a secret.
If you breathe like that,
If you listen to this recording every day,
My goodness,
You're going to become the most powerful superhero imaginable.
My goodness.
So if you want to become a superhero,
Just remind the person who's playing this for you,
Say,
Hey,
I want to be a superhero again.
Put the superhero recording on and practice your calm,
Slow breathing to get the superpowers of focus and calm.
And that way,
Your days will be super fun.
