This is a meditation for when you are not who you were,
For moments of transition,
And when it feels like life is shifting beneath your feet.
So,
Let's begin by taking a seat or lying down,
Wherever you are,
Let your body arrive.
Take a breath in,
Welcome yourself here,
And release your breath,
And throughout this meditation I want you to breathe easily,
At your own pace,
Steady in,
Steady out,
Fast or slow,
Deep or shallow,
It doesn't matter,
Let yourself find your own rhythm.
Change is one of those things we talk about wanting,
And one of the things we resist most fiercely when it actually shows up,
Because real change is rarely tidy,
It's not a neat before and after,
There's a whole season in between when you're neither who you were nor yet who you are becoming,
And in that liminal space,
In the in-between,
Is one of the most disorienting places to live,
So if you're in that space right now,
This is for you,
Feel your feet,
If they're on the ground,
Or feel the weight of your hips or your back,
Wherever you're resting,
The ground beneath you has not changed,
Whatever is shifting in your life,
The earth is still here,
Solid and patient and holding you.
In the sky,
Pluto is one of the planets of profound change,
His transits are slow and deep and they leave you different,
Not damaged,
Just different.
The person who comes out of a Pluto transit has seen something real about themselves and about life,
And they cannot now unsee it.
The death card in the tarot is that same energy,
It's not a literal death,
But the ending of a version of yourself,
The leaving behind of something that cannot come with you into the next chapter.
This is what you might be in the middle of.
Take a breath in and as you breathe out,
I want you to gently ask yourself,
What am I leaving behind?
Don't think too hard and don't make a list,
Just notice what comes up,
Maybe a role or a belief,
A way of being or thinking,
A relationship,
A version of yourself that you've outgrown.
Whatever came up,
See if you can hold it with a little compassion.
That version of you did the best it could,
That belief you had served a purpose once and that role kept you safe,
Perhaps,
Or maybe it gave you structure when you needed it,
But it's okay to release something that served you once it stopped serving you.
Breathe in again and as you breathe out,
Imagine yourself setting something down,
Not throwing it away,
Just setting it down gently and stepping forward without it.
Change moves in cycles,
Like the moon.
The new moon is the beginning,
The full moon is the culmination and the waning moon is the release.
You cannot have the new beginning without the release,
They're part of the same cycle.
So you're in the waning phase and that's not a small thing,
The waning moon is doing essential work.
Take a breath in and release it.
You don't need to know what comes next,
You don't need to have the plan even if you want it,
You only need to keep breathing and trust that the cycle knows where it's going,
Because it does.
Take a full slow breath in and as you breathe out,
Tell yourself,
I'm allowed to change.
Another deep breath in and as you release it,
Say,
I trust the process.
Breathe in again and as you release it,
Say,
I am becoming.
Begin to come back to the room when you're ready.
The ground is still here and you are still here and that is more than enough.
Thank you so much for sharing your space with me today.
Have a wonderful day.
