I invite you to find a quiet space and a comfortable seat.
Close down your eyes and take a deep breath in through the nose and exhale gently through the mouth.
And let your body begin to soften.
Let your shoulders drop,
Allow your jaw to release and let your breath begin to move slowly.
Without control,
Without force and without any effort.
There is nothing you need to do right now.
There is nothing to fix.
There is no version of yourself you need to become.
This moment is already enough.
You are enough.
And let your body rest into wherever you're sitting.
Feel the support beneath you.
Feel how held you already are.
And if there's any tension,
Emotional or physical,
Just imagine your exhale melting it all away.
No rush,
No effort.
Just a slow gentle release.
And I'd like you to repeat softly in your mind,
I am safe to release what no longer serves me.
I am safe to release what no longer serves me.
I don't have to carry this anymore.
I don't have to carry this anymore.
I am allowed to let go.
I am allowed.
Now I'd like you to imagine yourself walking through a peaceful woodland.
The ground is soft beneath your feet.
The light filters gently through the trees and there's a stillness here,
Quiet that feels ancient and kind.
You can hear the distant sound of birdsong,
The soft crunch of twigs beneath your steps and the steady rhythm of your own breath.
But you notice that you're carrying a bag,
Heavy,
Warm and familiar.
This bag is slung over your shoulder and you recognize that you've been holding onto this bag for a long time.
So long in fact that you've almost forgotten what it's like to walk without it.
But with every step,
The weight tugs at you and it pulls you down.
It starts to tire your legs,
Your back and your heart.
It holds everything you thought you needed to keep.
Stories,
The pressure and the expectations and some of it,
It isn't even yours,
But you've carried it anyway.
You've carried it for safety,
For approval,
For control and now something in you is ready to let go.
And as you continue to walk through the windland,
You come across a gentle flowing river and the water moves steadily,
Not rushed,
Not stagnant,
Just flowing.
And you kneel down beside this river,
You take a deep breath and you begin to open the bag.
And inside,
It's full of things that don't belong to you anymore.
Old stories,
Unrealistic expectations,
Timelines,
The shoulds,
Other people's opinions.
And one by one,
You take out these fears and you place them gently on a leaf.
And then you start to release these leaves into the water and let them go.
You watch them float downstream,
Not with urgency,
But with peace.
You don't need to chase after them.
You're allowed to release fully in this moment.
And some things float away easily and some linger a little longer and that's okay.
Let yourself breathe into the space that's being made.
You are not losing yourself,
But you are shedding what was never truly yours to carry.
And just stay here for a moment longer,
Sitting by the river,
Watching as the leaves fade away into the distance.
And let yourself feel lighter.
Let yourself feel clear.
And let yourself feel free.
Now I invite you to place one hand over your heart and over your belly and feel the stillness.
Feel the release and softly repeat,
I am safe to release what no longer serves me.
I don't have to carry this anymore.
I don't have to carry this anymore.
I am allowed to let go.
I am allowed.
And take one final deep breath in through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
When you feel ready,
You can start to gently blink your eyes open and come back into the space,
Taking the softness and the lightness with you,
Because now you've let go.
You've created space for something new.
