I just wanted to let you know that you are safe now.
I am here on this little journey with you.
There is nothing that can harm you right now.
There is nothing you need to be worrying about right now,
Or planning,
Or stressing about.
It can all wait for tomorrow.
Maybe you're in your bedroom,
Safe and sound,
Safe in the space of your body.
It's just you in that space of your body.
You can,
For the moment,
Let everything else go.
You could take a nice deep breath in through the nose and let a long,
Satisfying sigh come out through the mouth,
Letting the shoulders drop down,
Allowing the body to fully relax.
As you lay in your bed,
Or wherever you are,
Start to notice the sense of ground below you,
Holding you safely as you begin to relax.
Notice all the places where your body comes into contact with that soft ground,
And how good that feels.
Notice how the ground gently pushes up from below you,
And supports your whole body with steadiness and security.
It is there for you.
You are safe,
You are loved,
And you are held.
As you lay there,
Supported and held by the ground,
Begin to notice your breath coming in and out naturally,
The air filling and nourishing your body.
It just comes in and out naturally.
Notice how each time you breathe in and out,
Your belly and your ribs expand and contract naturally,
Your spine and your pelvis swaying softly as you breathe,
Gently rocking you to sleep.
Notice how your body lets go,
Releases and relaxes,
Really letting your body follow that natural rhythm,
Letting your whole body relax deeper.
Any time you drift off into worries or thoughts,
Let them drift away like clouds in the sky,
And gently let yourself come back to the safety of the present moment,
Held by the steadiness and the comfort of your bed.
Just breathing and letting go into deep relaxation,
As you begin to notice yourself settling and letting yourself drift,
Let the music carry you into a deep and restorative sleep.
And remember,
You are safe here,
You are held,
And you are loved.
