Let's delve into how to deepen your meditation practice,
The stages of the path and how it can become a truly beneficial and life-changing resource for you in your life.
We each resonate with different approaches given our unique paths and stages in life.
However,
This method I'll share with you significantly influenced my own journey.
Growing up as a kid and as an adult,
I always led an extremely physical lifestyle.
I was a professional sportsperson for many years,
A martial artist,
And then became a stunt performer in film.
In 2015,
While riding a motorbike on a film set,
Another vehicle on set collided with me at high speed.
Miraculously,
I survived,
But I was left in a coma for three weeks and suffered an extreme amount of severe injuries.
I woke from the coma into a body filled with neurological and musculoskeletal pain,
And a life now forced to be very sedentary and limited.
It stripped away much of what I held dear in my life,
Bringing immense emotional and mental suffering.
I feel really blessed that I was already a Tibetan Buddhist for almost 15 years,
And I embarked upon a journey of healing by immersing myself in meditation practice.
Immersing myself in practice allowed for profound transformation to happen,
Revealing inner strength and genuine happiness previously unknown to me.
This path evolved gradually,
With each step imbued with inspiration,
Reward,
And nourishment.
Although I had meditated for years before,
It somehow lacked real depth until I discovered a method that truly impacted my life and my well-being.
I'd like to share with you the basic outline of what I found was the most healing and enlightening journey,
The journey of self-discovery and healing.
First,
We need to learn to really settle into meditation and relax into our bodies.
The usual approach of focusing on the breath whilst trying to clear the mind didn't work for me,
But over time I developed a different perspective in a way that really allowed me to rest and settle with a quiet and clear mind.
Once you're comfortable enough with settling into meditation,
It's good to connect to your ground,
Develop a sense of steadiness within.
And then once you feel steady and grounded enough,
You can start to connect to feelings and sensations within your body.
Instinctively,
Most of us are disembodied.
We're disembodied for a reason.
It could be due to old wounding,
To some type of trauma or stress,
Or due to all the busyness and stuff we cram into our lives.
Reconnecting to our bodies is essential and opens up a door to a whole new dimension of awareness and starts to really connect us to a deeper sense of ourselves and our internal experiences.
Becoming embodied gives us a direct link to the awareness of our subtle body,
A connection to our inner vitality or life force,
To the energy counterpart of your physical body.
This is the layer of consciousness where letting go,
Healing and transformation happens,
And where physical,
Emotional and spiritual well-being develops.
The subtle body is the interface between your physical body and pure consciousness.
Through a growing sense of comfort and confidence and healing within your subtle body,
Through meditation,
Your awareness can expand to a connection to your deepest states of consciousness.
This deepest layer of consciousness is the experience of non-duality.
It's an insight where you directly experience the true nature of reality and yourself.
You transcend the ordinary dualistic perception of life and directly experience the underlying unity of existence or oneness,
Where you experience everything within your inner and outer world as it arises,
Moves through and dissolves naturally,
Without restriction.
Instead of perceiving yourself as a separate individual distinct from the rest of existence,
You get a direct apprehension of being interconnected with everything.
What is often not talked about is this experience is pervaded by an inspiring feeling of bliss and love.
In my course on Insightama,
Journey of Self-Discovery and Self-Healing,
I take you on some of this journey to reconnect you with your body and to the deeper parts of your consciousness.
So if you're interested in this path,
It'll be a really good course for you to get started with.
The path of deepening your meditation can truly be a beacon of resilience for you in times of suffering and a powerful life-changing and transformative path that can help you to find genuine happiness within yourself,
To allow that innate inner bliss within you,
Space to shine through.
So I encourage you to find a teacher and a path that you really resonate with,
So that you can embark on your own journey of self-discovery,
Healing,
Love and happiness.
