Welcome to my stoic affirmations for sleep.
These affirmations are inspired by the literary masters.
Take this time to embrace your inner child.
Listen to the words I speak and absorb them into your very soul.
And fully let go.
There is nothing you need to be doing now.
And nowhere you need to go.
Take a deep breath into your nose.
And let it out with a long sigh.
Let it all drift away into the dark night sky.
Feel your shoulders melt away from your ears.
Feel the pressure in your cheeks slip away as you drift off into a calm relaxing sleep.
I choose to remember tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet.
I know I am a princess,
All girls are,
Even if I live in a tiny old attic,
Even if I dress in rags,
Even if I do not feel pretty or smart.
I will always be a princess.
I am a resilient person.
I embrace challenges and I grow stronger from them.
I understand there is good in things,
Even if I don't see it.
And I choose to take comfort from that.
I choose to remember that nothing is ever really lost,
As long as I remember it.
And I take comfort in the knowledge all my memories belong to me.
I choose to live deliberately.
And I understand how splendid life is.
I choose to embrace this interesting world and I know it wouldn't be half so interesting if I knew everything.
For there would be no scope for imagination.
I choose to remember how lovely this world is.
And I am glad to be alive in it.
I am the master of myself.
I will not seek out excuses.
I will only look for the best outcome and react accordingly.
I understand that adversity tries people and I know it will prove just how nice I can be.
I know that when I begin,
I will not be able to stop.
I will go on and on doing it.
I choose to take time to roam through the park and let the great sweeping wind blow the fog out of my soul.
I understand it is good to be okay with failure and I will learn from my struggles.
I know that between the lines of every story,
There is another story and that is one that is never heard and can only be guessed at by the people who are good at guessing.
I choose to wait for those people.
And if they never come,
I know they will.
And I choose to celebrate my story.
I choose to be compassionate towards others,
For I understand we are all connected.
I choose to cease worrying about things which are beyond my circle of control.
I know that true wealth consists not of having great possessions,
But in having few wants.
I know that if I live in harmony with nature,
I will never be poor.
If I live according to what others think,
I will certainly never be rich.
I choose to remember everywhere I go,
There I am.
I choose to rise above difficulties with a calm mind.
I know I cannot control everything around me,
But I can control my thoughts,
Actions and reactions.
I know I am resilient.
I know I grow stronger from each challenge I face.
I understand there is nothing so strong as rage,
Except what makes me hold it in.
That is my true strength.
I know that I should not answer my enemies,
But retain my inner strength.
I choose to live deliberately,
And so I move forward much wiser than before.
I choose to remember everyone is going through their own tragedies,
And in this way we are all connected.
I understand there is a saving grace in the truth,
And this will help me as a truth teller through the worst of my troubles.
I know that when I look for the bad and expect it,
And so I must look for the good,
So that I can be sure I will get that.
I understand there is something about everything I can be glad about.
If I keep hunting long enough to find it,
I know that if I am too busy wishing things were different,
I will struggle to find much time to enjoy things as they are.
I choose to remember when I am hunting for the glad things,
I sought to forget the others.
I understand I must let go of what I cannot change,
For it is outside of my inner citadel.
I know that hardships are part of growth,
And I must accept them gracefully.
I choose to let go of the past,
And focus now on the present.
I choose to be content with what I have in this very moment.
I choose not to let strong emotions dictate my behaviour.
And I know I can keep a calm mind in moments of stress,
And the need to prove myself to others,
And my actions I use to discipline me.
I choose what I engage with mindfully,
And am unaffected by trivial matters.
I am in control of my mind,
Body and spirit.
And I choose to let go of what I think I know,
So that I remain curious and excited by life.
I am grateful for the lessons that each day brings.
And I understand I must look beyond my current emotions to gain clearer insight.
I know that self-awareness is my path to true wisdom.
And I understand I must focus on the bigger picture in moments of self-doubt.
I practice these affirmations in order to remain grounded in a world that's always changing.
By focusing on what I can control,
And accepting what I can't,
I will be on the path to mastering my inner peace.
