For over 15 years in business, she has brought a holistic approach that puts self-care and self-awareness at the core of being able to live your purpose as a caring person. She has studied Buddhist practices like mindfulness, metta (loving-kindness), compassion, engaged Buddhism, and meditation of many kinds. At the start of each coaching session or group session she leads, she offers a mindful grounding. She enjoys helping people clarify their career or self-employment decisions by helping them hear their callings and distinguish fear from intuitive knowing. As an introvert and HSP herself, she used to burn out too easily at work and went through years of anxiety before finding more solid ground, embracing her sensitivities, and understanding it was just a bad fit before. Now, Val enjoys having a thriving business as a holistic career and business coach. She believes that living your true purpose is a practical possibility, and overwhelm is not required. She helps people find their way through coaching, her small groups, her interactive courses, and her free classes and newsletter. Val's spiritual background also includes 12-step recovery, as well as ongoing learning and commitment to inclusion. She lives in a cohousing community and loves being part of building a mutual aid way of living.
