Sit comfortably.

Take a slow grounding breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth.

Feel the weight of your body.

Notice how the ground supports you.

Firm,

Unmoving and steady.

Rest your hand lightly on your page.

This is where we'll build our mountain today.

One that rises strong above and grounds deeply below.

Mountains remind us of resilience,

Of standing tall through pressure and time.

Above ground they rise with strength.

Below an unseen mass of weight holds their shape.

We too hold steady through life's pressures,

Not by resisting but by connecting to what supports us from beneath the surface.

Today's practice will help you feel that steadiness through strong grounded marks on the page.

Start by drawing a wide triangle,

Your mountain.

Let your lines be bold,

Deliberate and slow.

Then draw another behind it,

Maybe taller or smaller.

A range of shapes rising upward.

Breathe in and on your exhale press the pen a little bit more firmly on the page.

Feel that strength through your hand.

Now beneath your mountains draw grounding lines,

The rocks,

Roots and layers of earth below.

Horizontal or angled lines that hold the base steady.

These marks represent your unseen support,

Your values,

Your people,

Your quiet strength.

Inhale deeply,

Exhale slowly,

Letting your hand trace the shape of steadiness and support.

Ask yourself,

What helps me stay steady when life feels heavy?

Where do I draw strength from beneath the surface?

Let those answers shape the foundation of your drawing.

Dense marks,

Strong textures,

Solid ground.

Above your mountains stand tall,

Below your roots hold strong.

Feel that balance of height and depth and of pressure and peace.

Set your pen down and look at your page.

Mountains above,

Rocks and earth below.
