Hello,
And good evening.
This meditation is designed to help you find deep rest,
A guided hand towards your night sleep.
So please find yourself lying down.
Place covers over your body,
And lower or turn off your lights.
Rest your head down onto your pillow,
Adjust yourself,
Finding your most comfortable position.
And now bring in a full,
Deep breath,
And gently let it go.
And softly and slowly close your eyes,
And feel the weight of your body on your bed,
The rhythmic hum of your breathing,
Slow and even.
And now allow the muscles in your feet to go soft and weighted down,
Your calves and thigh muscles free from work,
Free from running around,
From doing.
And notice the release of effort,
Soften in your belly,
And welcome in the feeling of heaviness into your body,
As if each exhale draws you closer and closer in towards yourself.
And know that this heaviness does not prevent you from moving or adjusting.
Please adjust to feel the most comfortable,
And to feel snug under your covers,
And allow rest to come in through the chest and shoulders,
And the weight of your head,
Supported by your pillow,
Cradled and held.
Rest.
The day is over.
Let the day fall behind you.
There is no need to do anything.
Whatever you were able to accomplish today was enough.
No more emails tonight.
No more running around.
The last of the chores are done.
Just rest.
Tomorrow there will be more time,
Time for more living,
But for right now,
Let it go.
Release in your jaw.
Find softness in your mouth,
Softness around your eyes,
Softness in your cheeks and face.
It can often help to imagine a place that brings you comfort as you start to find sleep.
Perhaps a cozy room,
Lit by a fireplace or candles or a soft light.
Imagine a welcoming space that invites you in,
And place yourself there with a gentle presence.
And in your space,
Imagine a big,
Beautiful window.
How big is your window?
Can you see the night sky?
The stars?
The moon?
Let sleep in.
Let rest in.
Let peace in.
