Hi friend,
Welcome to our Vipassana meditation.
Find a comfortable seated position on a chair or cushion.
Rest your hands on your knees or in your lap and gently close your eyes.
Take a few deep breaths to settle into the present moment.
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Bring your attention to the sensations in your body.
Start by focusing on your breath,
Noticing the rise and fall of your chest.
Or notice the sensation of air passing through your nostrils.
Allow your awareness to travel through your body,
Scanning for any areas of tension or relaxation.
As you scan,
Observe any sensations without judgment.
If you encounter any discomfort,
Simply acknowledge it without reacting.
Continue to move your attention through different parts of your body,
From your head to your toes,
Cultivating a heightened awareness of the present moment.
Shift your focus to the breath.
Notice the subtle sensations associated with each inhale and exhale.
Be present with the breath,
Observing it as it naturally unfolds.
If your mind starts to wander,
Gently guide it back to the breath.
Expand your awareness to include thoughts and emotions.
Notice any arising thoughts or feelings without getting entangled in them.
See them as passing clouds in the sky of your awareness.
Instead of reacting,
Simply observe with detachment.
As we conclude this Vipassana meditation,
Take a moment to acknowledge the stillness and awareness within you.
Gently bring your awareness back to your surroundings,
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Express gratitude for this time of mindfulness and insight,
And carry this sense of awareness with you as you continue your day.
Thank you for practicing with me.
I'll see you next time.
