This meditation is a great addition to your day to help you relax and calm your mind, body, and spirit. Enjoy this 4-6 breathing practice to help reduce your stress response and calm your nervous system. It's great to do just before bed as well. Exhaling longer than inhaling naturally calms you down. Greetings,

This is Barbara.

In today's practice,

We're going to do relaxing breaths.

We'll simply breathe in for a count of four and release for a count of six.

Then I'll give you a few moments to simply breathe on your own.

Whenever we exhale longer than inhale,

It's a natural relaxation response for the body.

So settle in.

You can be seated or lying down for this practice.

Are you ready?

Good.

Let's begin.

Begin your final deep breath.

When you've finished your breath,

Rub your hands together and rest them over your eyes as you take a moment to bring your awareness back to your physical body.

Notice how you feel in your body.

Relax your hands.

Bring a smile to your face and give yourself a big hug for taking this time for you.
