Welcome to this guided meditation for embracing the unknown.
Take a comfortable seat and close your eyes or lower your gaze,
Whichever feels most comfortable for you.
Take a few moments to centre yourself with your breath.
With each inhale,
Draw in peace and stillness,
And with each exhale,
Release any tension or heaviness you might be carrying.
Allow the rhythm of your breath to regulate,
Pulling your inhales through your nose,
Your throat,
Your sides and eventually your belly.
As you exhale,
Let the belly soften back until all your air is out and your body has softened.
As we steady the pace of our breathing,
We can also steady the rhythm of our minds.
With each breath,
Allow your body to relax more deeply,
Your mind to clear and your heart to open.
Feel yourself becoming more present with every moment.
Tendon the muscles over your eyelids,
Unclench your jaw,
Drop your tongue from the roof of your mouth,
Feel your shoulders fall away from your ears.
Relax.
Relax.
Softly repeat,
In this moment,
I am here.
In this breath,
I am here.
Gently reflect on the truth that there are many things outside of your knowledge and control.
Repeat softly,
I recognize that I do not know what I do not know.
May I allow myself space for not knowing.
And I trust life to show me what is needed,
When it is needed.
Breathe into the space of the unknown with a sense of trust.
Each moment is a creation of the new and the unknown.
May I meet each new moment with openness.
Place a hand over your heart space and repeat,
May I be soft to myself in this journey of not knowing.
May I be patient.
May I be open to the lessons life offers me.
Imagine the sense of openness and kindness radiating outward from you like a light,
Extending to others who are also navigating the unknown.
May you have the space to not know.
May you trust in the timing of your life.
And may you meet each moment with an open heart.
Sit with these intentions for a few moments.
Simply breathing and being present with each in-breath and with every out-breath.
Each breath is an opportunity to renew and commit to this openness and kindness.
As you prepare to conclude your meditation,
Take a few deep breaths,
Bringing your awareness back to the room.
Notice the sounds around you and the feel of the ground beneath you.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes and carry the sense of peace and openness with you the rest of your day.
