Take a breath,
One that fills your lungs entirely.
Now release,
But slowly.
Give yourself time in this moment.
I'm sure you don't have many to yourself.
If you do,
They are likely rushed,
Because you have to get to someone or something else.
But for a moment,
Allow yourself to breathe,
To be here,
Right now.
Allow the thoughts of what they need,
Those thoughts that are consuming your mind,
Let them leave.
Instead,
Focus on you,
Just for right now.
Maybe you don't have someone asking if you need anything,
So consider me your lifeline.
What do you need?
Take a moment to answer honestly.
I may not be able to give it to you,
But allow yourself time to express it.
Stop carrying it on your shoulders and expecting it to get lighter.
It won't.
Take a moment to speak it.
Great job.
Now take another breath,
Because as a caregiver,
It's hard to be the one who needs care.
It's difficult to express you too have needs.
But it's okay.
It's okay for the next moment.
The only person you are caring for is you.
I hope your day is lighter,
Full of light and ease.
