Welcome to this present moment meditation.
Today you will be practicing creative mindfulness using your journal and your pen to anchor you in the present moment.
We hear the words be here now.
We think oh yeah if I'm here in this moment I will be at peace.
I will be calm.
I will be working towards spiritual enlightenment and of course there is some truth to this idea and even if we're practicing being in the present moment,
Minds tend to wander into the past.
Reliving,
Regretting,
Retelling,
Stories and conversations wishing things were different or you had been different or they had been different.
Our minds fly into the future tinged with worry,
Regret or amped up with expectation and like most things being in the present moment practicing that idea of be here now is just that a practice and today you will have the opportunity to use your journal to practice being in the present moment.
So as you write I invite you to notice how the pen feels in your hand,
How it feels as it glides across the page so that no matter what you're writing about whether it be something in the past or the future or a feeling or an emotion or an idea you are still grounded in the present moment by the mere act of writing and as you write you write without judgment,
Without worry about what you're writing.
You just allow whatever shows up to be here now on the page.
I will be offering a couple of journal prompts and one I will repeat and as you write and answer these prompts notice if there's a change,
If there's a shift from moment to moment which again we don't judge this we're just noticing we're just saying oh that's interesting we're just practicing creative mindfulness.
So let's begin our practice together.
I invite you to find your most comfortable position ideally with your journal by your side and when you feel ready gently close your eyes.
Take in a deep breath through your nose and release it through your nose.
Notice your body,
Notice your thoughts.
Taking in another deep breath through your nose,
This time exhaling through your mouth and notice.
Just notice what you feel,
What you hear,
Any thoughts floating through your mind.
Without attachment,
Without judgment,
We're just noticing.
One more breath in and one more breath out.
And notice.
Notice what is arising for you in this moment.
And when you feel ready I invite you to turn toward your journal and write in this moment I feel and just see what flows onto the page.
In this moment I feel remembering to write without judgment,
Without trying,
Noticing your pen as it glides across the page.
I'll give you a few moments and I'll be back.
In this moment I see.
Looking around the room without thinking or trying,
Just allowing your eyes to look at whatever it is they see and write in this moment I see.
In this moment I see.
I'll give you a few moments and then I'll come back.
I'll give you a few moments and then I'll come back.
I'll give you a few moments and then I'll come back.
In this moment I feel.
Without judgment,
You're just noticing.
You're just writing.
In this moment I feel.
In this moment I notice.
In this moment I notice.
In this moment I notice.
In this moment I notice.
In this moment I am aware of.
In this moment,
I am aware of.
.
.
What is inside me?
What are you talking about?
The world is a wonderful place for such a wonderful life.
Imagine,
The world is one,
You You Be here now Breathe here now Notice here now You may be on a roll and want to keep writing and so go for it and you may want to revisit this meditation and these journal prompts and although they might seem simple I believe they open us up to Realizing how fluid it is to be here now and How we change from moment to moment and how that is just okay Thank you so much Namaste
