Start by finding yourself in a comfortable position,
Seated or lying down.
Ideally,
Uncross your legs to increase blood flow.
Place your arms at your sides or your hands in your lap.
Gently close your eyes.
In this moment,
There is nothing you need to do.
Nowhere you need to go,
You're giving yourself this time of gentle relaxation and calm.
And if thoughts enter your mind,
That's okay.
Let them drift by.
Float away with each exhale.
Easy,
Without forcing or pushing.
Shift your focus now from your head to your breath.
Without trying to change or fix or adjust,
Just notice.
Witness your breath.
And as you do this,
Feel your physical body calming.
Melting into ease with each inhale and exhale.
Drift your attention now to your heart.
Imagine your breath flowing in and out of this space.
And that with each inhale,
You are breathing into your heart.
And with each exhale,
You are breathing loving kindness from your heart through your body.
Now without forcing or pushing,
Gently deepen your breath.
Taking in just a little bit more on the inhale.
Releasing just a little bit more on the exhale.
And as you do this,
Taking in a little bit more,
Releasing a little bit more.
Notice how your body becomes even more calm.
You're breathing a little bit more deeply into your heart,
Into your heart space.
Breathing in just a little bit more love,
Breathing out just a little bit more love.
Let's take a moment now to honor this miracle that is your breath.
This gift given to you at birth.
And since that first moment,
It has been with you,
Supporting you no matter what.
Nourishing you,
Breathing life into you,
This breath of life.
Feel into your gratitude for your breath,
Thank your breath.
Your breath is a constant reminder that peace and awareness and presence are always available.
All you have to do is shift your awareness from your mind,
The thoughts,
The busyness,
From outside of yourself to your breath.
All you have to do is feel your breath moving in through your nose,
How it feels as it moves through your nostrils,
And how it feels when you exhale.
A simple shift in awareness from head to breath.
And when you consider breathing through your heart space,
All it is is a simple shift from head to heart.
Remember this,
This connection to peace and the present moment is always available to you.
When you move your breath into your heart,
Feel into your capacity to love,
With each breath you become anchored in the present moment.
You are then able to move through the world with mindfulness and a quality of awareness that is anchored in loving kindness and the present moment.
Let's set an intention today to make a difference with our breath.
Imagine that with each breath you take,
You are spreading loving kindness to those around you and beyond,
Spreading loving kindness out into the world,
Making a huge difference in our world.
When you feel ready,
Open your eyes and breathe yourself into a glorious day filled with loving kindness and presence.
Namaste.
