Welcome to this guided visualization.
It is intended to help you come home to the child within,
To meet them with compassion and love so that together you can release old limiting beliefs and invite in your heart's truest desires.
Inner child work,
Although gentle,
Can be powerfully healing and it can lead to emotions rising up to the surface.
This is completely normal and healthy but if at any point these emotions feel overpowering please listen to your body and take a break.
This meditation should not be used as a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.
If you're ready to dive in please make yourself as comfortable as possible before we arrive at a place of stillness.
Close down the eyes and let your body sink into the ground beneath you.
I'm going to guide you through a visualization and I want you to know that there is no right or wrong way to experience this.
Perhaps you see the scene that I describe,
Perhaps instead you feel it in your body or hear it or sense it.
It will be completely unique to you.
You find yourself in a field of buttercups.
They're yellow petals glowing like stars beneath an orange sun.
It's late afternoon and the sun hangs low in a clear blue sky,
So low you could almost reach out and touch it.
Feel the grass beneath your feet.
Somewhere close by a family of birds are singing.
Allow your senses to become heightened.
How many shades of green can you see in the trees surrounding you?
Sun's warmth falls down on you.
Take a more considered inhale now and allow that breath to move down to the lower parts of your lungs and with the out breath surrender to this space.
Allow your being to soften.
As you inhale again remember that each breath is the exhalation of these trees around you and with your exhale let go.
You hear the trickle of a stream somewhere ahead and you walk towards it.
Each step you feel a little more relaxed.
Distractions,
Tensions and thoughts slip away now.
You are here in this moment,
Encased in nature,
Held by the air.
Say you find the stream and decide to put your feet into it.
The water is perfectly clear.
How does it feel?
Your eye line is drawn upstream to a little stone bridge.
You think you see the shadow of a person standing there,
The glow of the orange sun behind them.
They are waving at you,
Calling you over.
You walk towards them.
Before you're even able to see who they are you sense this beautiful energy emanating from them,
Pure love and joy.
As you move closer you see now that this person is your inner child,
You and the young girl.
How old are they?
Perhaps you notice what they're wearing.
They are very happy to see you.
It's been too long.
They want to play and they ask you to find a stick for the game,
So you do.
Once you've found a stick nearby you join them on the bridge.
After three,
Your inner child says,
You're going to throw a stick each into the stream and then run to the other side of the bridge to see whose stick flows downstream the fastest.
Ready?
One,
Two,
Three.
You don't look to see whose stick wins,
But instead you look at the face of your inner child as they delight in such simple pleasures.
Perhaps you'd forgotten how to find joy and magic in the ordinary.
Now your inner child has an idea.
You will find three sticks and you will together make a wish on each one.
This could be something to let go of from your childhood,
Something that's been holding you back,
Or perhaps it's something from your past you want to forgive yourself for,
Or maybe something you want to invite into your life.
They take your hand and together now you find those three sticks.
Take your time.
What does each stick feel like?
Rough,
Smooth,
Heavy,
Light.
Once you've found them,
Together you come back to the bridge.
You hold the first stick in your hands and make your first wish.
Try not to overthink it.
It's usually best to simply go with the first thing that comes into your mind.
You make your wish and after three you each let go of the stick and allow it to float away with the water.
One,
Two,
Three,
Let go.
One,
Two,
Three,
Let go.
And your inner child turns to you and says,
Well it has to come true now,
But you already know that.
Together you take the next stick.
You make your wish and then again after three you drop it into the water.
One,
Two,
Three.
You both watch as it floats away.
And now you take the third stick.
Together you make your wish and then you let go after one,
Two,
Three.
Your inner child thanks you for taking this much needed time to play,
To notice the joys around you and to bring forth the things you desire for your life.
Is there anything you'd like to say to them?
Anything they needed to hear but didn't during their childhood?
Take a moment with them.
And remember that you can come back to this place anytime you want to,
But for now it's time to say goodbye.
Bring your hands to your heart and hold that child there.
In a moment we will open our eyes and prepare for the rest of the day,
But first I'd like to invite you to think of a few words to use as a mantra,
Perhaps for the rest of the day as the mind gets busy or perhaps for the week ahead or even the year.
These words could be,
I am enough or I live in joy or I am love or any messages that you received during this visualization.
So choose some words now and repeat them five times.
Congratulations for giving this time for your personal growth and healing.
Have a beautiful day.
