Let's begin by finding the most comfortable position for your body,
Allowing you to feel supported as you shift into rest.
Close your eyes and begin to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth,
Releasing any tension in your body.
Breathing in through the nose and letting that all go through the mouth,
Allowing yourself to release tension.
On this journey we're going to activate the body's natural relaxation response using the power of your breath and your mind.
Let's begin by guiding your awareness onto your toes,
Sensing them and feeling them.
As you breathe your breath all the way down into the toes,
You feel them relax and let go.
Shifting your focus to your feet,
Feeling them grow heavy,
Relaxed,
Supported by the earth beneath you.
Breathing in a breath all the way down into the feet and toes,
Releasing all tension.
With each part of your body that you relax,
You are signaling your brain to release chemicals that reduce stress and enhance recovery.
Taking a deep breath in and letting go,
Softening into this moment.
Breathing a deep breath all the way down into the legs and as you let that breath go,
Your muscles soften,
Your heart rate slows and your nervous system begins to find balance,
Shifting into a place of peace.
Guiding your awareness onto your abdomen,
As you feel the breath expand into the belly and into your low back,
Imagine your breath gently massaging your internal organs,
Releasing stress.
As you breathe in a breath into your abdomen,
Your body relaxes,
Tension eases and the breath signals safety to the brain,
Allowing you to fully let go.
Shifting your attention to your chest,
Noticing your heartbeat.
Tuning in to this area,
You allow your heart to beat as you feel the rhythm of your breath slowing down your heart.
As you breathe in and exhale,
Letting go of any remaining tension,
Feeling yourself shift into a place of safety and relaxation.
Guiding your awareness to your arms,
Your hands and your fingertips.
Begin to feel and imagine the muscles softening,
The nerves calming.
As the body shifts deeper into relaxation,
The upper body completely melts into the surface beneath you,
Letting go.
Breathing a deep breath into the entire body all the way down to the toes.
As you exhale,
You feel yourself relax deeper,
Your nervous system is more calm,
Tension has left the body and peace has entered.
Guiding your awareness to your face and the top of the head.
Releasing any tension held in your jaw,
Your forehead and the space between your eyebrows.
Noticing the muscles in your face soften,
Tension is releasing from your cheeks,
From your jaw,
Your ears,
Your scalp and the entire head falls heavier as you let go of tension.
As you breathe a breath in,
The muscles in your face soften and you exhale your breath,
Feeling the whole body experience a state of deep rest.
