Welcome,
Welcome.
So this morning,
I noticed how often the body awakens and then immediately there seems to be a mood.
I feel good,
I feel heavy,
I feel anxious,
I feel energized,
I feel blah.
You know,
The body feels a certain way.
The emotions move a certain way and then the mind begins to narrate the day.
And almost instantly,
There's identification.
I am tired,
I'm overwhelmed,
I'm peaceful,
I feel off.
And then we label the experience as good or bad.
And if it feels good,
We might try to hold on to it.
If it feels uncomfortable,
Then we try to do something,
We try to adjust and manage and improve it.
And this is all just natural part of the human experience,
Right?
All of these states though,
They're moving.
The mood shift,
The energy seems to rise and fall.
Sensations seem to come and go,
Sometimes moment to moment.
And yet something here is aware of all of that.
Before the label,
Before the story,
Before the reaction,
There's just a simple knowing of it all.
The I am that I am.
It's simply aware.
So let's just rest as this pure I am presence that we are and that which doesn't change.
You can just simply begin to settle in ways that feel natural to you.
Sitting or lying down,
Eyes open or closed.
Not forcing anything.
Just letting everything be exactly as it is right now.
And perhaps just gently observing how from moment to moment subtle shifts are happening.
The breath changes,
Sensations come and go.
Another thought appears.
The experience is in motion constantly.
But the true essence of what we are never changes.
I am is steady.
I am doesn't fluctuate.
Everything that can be noticed is changing.
The thoughts and emotions,
Sensations and energy levels,
The personal self-identification,
The bodysuit,
This sense of me seems to shift.
But notice that the pure presence of what you are is here in every state.
And whether the mood is heavy,
When the body feels weak or strong,
Awareness remains the same.
I am doesn't brighten or dim.
It doesn't become overwhelmed.
It simply is.
When physical or emotional discomfort appears,
The mind can tend to want to move away from it.
And when pleasure appears,
The mind tends to want to cling or grasp it.
But this movement is just noticed.
Even the impulse to change experience is appearing in awareness,
Has awareness.
So everything can be included.
We're just simply recognizing this deep stillness,
The changeless nature of your true self.
Just noticing the simple sense of being,
What we truly are.
Just,
I am,
This presence that doesn't depend on moods or energy levels.
We're just resting,
Letting attention deepen into the steady presence of what we are.
As we begin to gently close this session,
Notice the room again,
The sounds and the light,
Feeling of the body in this space.
The day will continue.
Moods will appear to shift.
Energy will seem to rise and fall.
But what you are remains forever unchanged.
If you had your eyes closed,
You can feel free to open them.
Thank you for joining me.
Namaste.
