Think of these words as a letter of support to you today.
Words from my heart to yours.
If you may be going through a time of uncertainty,
Pain,
Grief,
Loss,
Or through any time of change,
Change and transition,
And perhaps you feel a little vulnerable,
Raw and alone,
As many of us do through these times of uncertainty right now.
I understand uncertainty so deeply within myself,
Through times of change in my life,
Right now,
And in times before too.
And I deeply want you to know as you listen to this that I feel you,
I see you,
And I acknowledge you in your own experience of whatever this might be or how this feels for you right now.
And I hope from these words that something may resonate and feel supportive for you.
And perhaps just lift your spirits a little too through these times and always.
I've been reflecting through this time of uncertainty how we often wait until our struggles pass or our emotions pass,
To feel that we can talk about them or how we moved through them to reach the other side.
To feel that we have something to say that's of value,
That who we are is enough,
That our story is valid,
That perhaps we are only inspiring to someone or even more so to ourselves when we've healed or we're all better or we've transformed in some way.
So often we don't like to feel we're a burden or that our experiences might feel uncomfortable to hear.
We don't like to take up space with what we're going through.
It can feel scary to say just as it really is,
To open our hearts,
To trust that we will be understood and held.
But what if we were able to,
To just talk about our struggles,
Our pain,
Our uncertainty,
Our grief,
Our loss,
All of it and more.
And not just on the days that we feel brighter or uplifted or something shifted in some way,
But on all the days through the struggle and even the suffering whilst we're in it.
To not have to pretend or hide or put any filter on or edit our words or feelings or our expressions before we face the world in any way.
To just show up in all our vulnerability and with courage just as we are in all that we are.
It's hard to do though,
Isn't it?
It can feel raw like a weeping open wound and yet it's also in this space,
In this phase,
This time of pain or uncertainty within it all that connects us with someone or others and that makes us human and relatable.
And I honestly cannot think of any deeper significance or anything that's needed more right now in this world.
The gift of you.
Sometimes I think we have it all around the wrong way.
We may look to inspiration ahead rather than seeing and feeling all the inspiration in all the moments as they are happening right now.
And I so desire for you to know that I see you in these moments.
I feel your heart,
Your courage and I deeply acknowledge it all as so valuable,
So precious.
So deeply significant.
There is nothing more real than sitting with it,
Being with it,
Within it all and saying to ourselves and to those we trust around us or just one other person,
This hurts,
This is hard.
I feel uncertain.
I feel alone right now.
I feel so much that I want to be understood and heard and held.
And that feeling when someone leans in and says I'm with you,
I'll be here with you and I'll stay for as long as it takes.
It can feel like everything,
Can't it,
In that moment.
And yet it's hard to find that deep listening and compassion but I can tell you that others just like you are feeling the way you are feeling and know that their hearts are with yours saying and whispering,
Me too.
I don't know what it is that you might be going through or feeling right now but I do know that as you're listening to these words,
You're living and surviving this journey within it all.
And every small thing you do is an accomplishment and is something to never take lightly.
As you may not know now or when or if or how but the inspiration you seek is just what you're living,
What you're choosing and just how you are within it all right now.
And I wonder if you were to let go of any expectation of what may come or how you feel or how you should or must be or do,
How that would feel and would that ease the uncertainty a little?
Would that ease your pain and would that in any way feel supportive to you?
How would that fill you?
How would that ease something within you?
And perhaps if you were to think of healing in a way that just feels true for you,
No one else but just you in this moment.
To find and even create your own definition of what this means.
Would this feel empowering in some way for you?
Because you may even begin to see yourself as I do,
As others do too.
As a beautiful woven tapestry of all the ways that you keep leaning in and showing up and just being you.
And I see all of you,
The glorious,
Messy and wonderful parts of your whole being just as you.
And when you say how you feel right in this moment within it all,
Know that someone else will be saying or whispering them to themselves,
Me too.
And I know they are because I've been that person and I've been alongside others too.
And in some ways I am that person still now too.
Always seeing you,
Feeling you,
Hearing you,
Alongside you right now within it too.
We feel inspired by stories of recovering or healing.
And it's as if we must return to some sense of wholeness or completeness before we can be acceptable amongst the world again at times.
We might hear and take in stories of healing and transformation.
We may see someone shining on the other side.
Perhaps it's because deep in our core we all love a beautiful fairy tale and we love a happy ending.
We feel most comfortable when there is closure or some kind of inspiration as our hope to hold onto.
But do you know something that inspires me the most is what you're living with and going through right now.
In the midst of your uncertainty,
Pain,
Suffering,
Whatever it is,
However this all might feel for you.
I see you,
I hear you,
I understand you and I deeply acknowledge you within it all.
And I see and feel how each day you choose to keep carrying on.
And you choose compassion over pain and fear.
And every day you choose this over and over again.
And it may feel exhausting and yet you still carry on choosing light through dark,
Seeking joy through sorrow,
Feeling love through heartache and pain.
You may think to yourself that it's fragility or it's too vulnerable or perhaps it's even weak at times.
And yet all I see and feel and as others do too is your strength.
And it's more than beautiful to me,
It's everything.
I've so often questioned healing and transformation in the work that I do and as a human being alongside you too.
I've questioned if we place so much emphasis on the recovery rather than honoring the whole journey.
And through grief and loss in all contexts of this I honestly can't tell you that there's a certain path to healing.
I don't think that through grief we are ever truly broken but I do know that we can deeply feel that way.
I don't know if a heart ever heals and returns to the way it was as whole.
I don't know if we always transform through grief.
I just think we honor whatever it is and how it feels for us.
I don't see grief as always like some transformational butterfly that suddenly understands the meaning of life through loss and has new wings to soar.
I think it can be this at times but not always.
If we speak of those we love we carry this kind of loss forever.
Loss is love,
It's all love.
But it is also deeply changing in every crevice of our heart and aspect of our lives.
And we may never be the same person that we were.
And through grief in all contexts,
Through loss in all contexts of however we feel,
Whatever this means in our lives,
There may not always be a silver lining.
But I can tell you with hope that it gets easier.
It does get lighter.
And we do somehow in the strength of our humanness have this incredible capacity,
Incredible capacity to carry grief and love as they coexist side by side.
And I never see any part of that as fragility but as vulnerability yes,
But as beautiful vulnerability and I honor it all as deep wisdom and strength.
And I only ever see and feel this with you.
Through pain that we live with.
And I speak to pain of all kinds in the holistic way I've truly come to know and understand this.
Physical,
Emotional,
Spirit,
Heart,
Soul.
Pain comes in many forms and expressions and not one is separate to another.
We are so intrinsic and beautifully connected.
As human beings we are all a unique piece of art.
Pain brings uncertainty and it's not an easy journey to acceptance,
To living with what you may live with and just being with it,
Within it,
In the here and now.
Holding hope and trusting in ways for moving forward.
I've come to understand and know so deeply that healing through any uncertainty or change and transition of all kinds doesn't just come by focusing on an end goal or feeling attached to an outcome.
Feeling that we must or should reach this better version of ourselves or recovered whole version of who we are.
Healing comes through every moment of this journey that we live right now.
Embracing all of it within it all.
Being with it all.
Allowing it all.
I deeply want you to know that you are never broken.
You are always whole.
You don't need to be fixed or to change or to be better than you are right now.
Just feeling this and knowing this.
Allowing yourself to be in this moment right now.
Maybe the most beautiful gift to yourself.
It may open something,
Shift something and most of all bring a sense of ease and release.
A trust within yourself to let go of needing to be attached to any outcome and to honour all of it,
All of yourself as you are right now.
Where there is no focus on any limitations or what you can or cannot do.
There is no time frame or expectation or pressure.
Just a willingness to accept yourself as all of who you are right now.
Inspirational within it all.
This beautiful journey that is changing and expanding and evolving each new day.
And within it all you are complete enough,
Worthy and brave.
In the midst of uncertainty there can feel like an internal struggle.
There may also be choices and chances and possibilities for light,
For ease,
For joy.
Seek and choose ways to capture the light in all the ways you can.
As the light within and around us shines a torch on what is truly important and what deeply matters.
And it's not the big stuff.
It's all the small things.
The precious and present moment awareness.
All these precious moments that mean everything.
In each day they just mean so much.
All the small things.
Let the rest go and lean into your own light and allow your whole being to embody and to feel empowered by all of this.
Because life isn't remarkable just when we overcome something.
It's remarkable through it.
Deep within the uncertainty.
Within the journey.
In the midst of it all.
Life is remarkable and inspirational because we choose to make it so.
You are remarkable and inspirational because you choose to see yourself in this way.
Through and because of it all we keep saying yes.
And when we deeply know this and feel this and we talk about the struggle,
The pain,
The feeling of it all.
You may never know.
But someone will be saying or whispering to themselves.
Me too.
Or thank you.
This gives me hope.
I feel acknowledged.
I feel held.
And we need more of this through all of these times in our hearts and our lives.
Amongst us all.
My hope is for you to not feel discouraged or to hide or pretend.
Especially in these times of uncertainty right now.
I hope you won't bury your feelings or stop telling the journey that you live within.
Or ever see yourself as any less significant if you're not healed or recovered.
Or feeling bright.
Or uplifted.
Or there hasn't been that transformation for you through this.
Because it's all happening right now in every moment.
It is happening for you right now.
And I hope you won't compare yourself to another.
But you'll listen to yourself and all that's true for you.
I hope you'll choose to anchor yourself in self-belief,
Awareness and a deep knowing of all that you are.
And just how significant and beautiful and valuable you are.
A gift to this world.
To us all.
Because what you're living with and feeling and moving through right now is the inspiration.
How you live with it.
How you're feeling.
How you're still opening yourself up to more.
And there is nothing more beautiful to me than someone who's living through something in the middle and midst of it all.
The uncertainty of it.
Determined and compassionately loving anyway.
And each day as you turn your own pain into care and support for another.
You are an example of compassion.
Of embodied leadership.
And more than ever,
I cannot express enough that we need your humanness and the very real gift of you,
Just as you are.
And any time that you doubt that,
Reach out for support to someone who will remind you of that and encourage you and guide you to return to this knowing within yourself.
And as a human being alongside you,
Who feels and sees you in this place and space right now,
I say thank you.
As you do encourage me,
You deeply inspire me.
Through it all,
Through all of this uncertainty,
I see you.
I hear you.
I feel you.
And I am here with you alongside.
As I am whispering,
I understand.
It's been this way for me too.
And I am here for you within it all.
