There are seven homecomings.
The seven homecomings can be practiced formally or informally,
Individually or with a group.
Often I evoke my homecomings as I move through the world.
Just now we will focus on the sixth homecoming.
The sixth homecoming is silence.
I'll invite you now to find a perfect posture for you.
A posture that is comfortable,
Securing.
I invite you to draw a deep deep breath,
Expand your lungs and at the top of that breath exhale with a sigh.
And just be with the relaxation of that breath.
Let's inhale one more time now,
Deep expansive breath and at the top a sigh.
I'll invite you to now soften your gaze.
Perhaps closing your eyes isn't best for you now.
Perhaps just soften your eyelids.
And experience a softening through your neck,
A softening through your shoulders.
A softening of your body.
And now I will invite you now to begin by reflecting on the generosity of silence as something that helps you to have the space to be with yourself.
Perhaps reflect on how important it is to lean into silence,
Allowing it to hold you and reflect on how you can embrace silence as a friend and or lover invested in your health and well-being.
Silence helps you to understand how to use your language to benefit yourself and others.
Perhaps allow the silence to be present and accepted.
Invite silence into the circle.
Say welcome to the silence.
Relax.
Inhale.
Exhale and come home to being held by the silence.
I am California now.
