Hi,
I'm Lori and thanks for joining me on this guided meditation to help you release control.
We get power and confidence and self-assurance,
Peace of mind,
Those are all the good things about control.
But we also get anxiety and stress and frustration and anger and judgement and all that leads to physical ailments in our bodies.
Control is a set of actions we take for a desired outcome.
If only we could learn to trust the universe,
To trust ourselves and to just let life unfold as it's meant to for our highest and greatest learning and good.
When we force a desired outcome,
We take new experiences away,
New lessons from both ourselves and others.
When we try to solve other people's problems,
We're actually hurting them because we're stealing an opportunity for them to learn and grow through that experience right at hand.
I want to invite you now to join me on this guided meditation.
So get comfortable,
Laying down is probably best.
I really would like you to be the observer and pay attention as I read each statement and you think about it.
Are there any physical reactions in your body or any emotional responses?
Is there something here you might want to explore further?
Alright,
We're going to grow some roots to start with.
So I want you to pick a color for your roots.
Yellow,
Brown,
Green,
White,
Whatever color you'd like.
And imagine now at the base of your skull,
Very small roots starting to grow,
Coming down your spine,
Wrapping around your spine,
Moving down between the space where your shoulder blades are,
Wrapping around the spine,
Into your middle back,
Into your lower back,
Wrapping really well around the tailbone,
Growing under your thighs,
Under your calves,
All the way to your heels and right out your feet to the floor.
Visualize those roots now easily going through the floor and the concrete foundation and into the dirt below the building you're in.
Visualize those roots now wiggling down into sedimentary layers of clay and sand and gravel.
Allow those roots to split left and right laterally and really get deeply rooted in the sedimentary layers.
On your next exhale,
I want you to visualize pushing those roots like a hot knife through butter into the solid bedrock layer and allow those roots to go deep and split left and right,
Anchoring on large slabs of rocks or boulders.
On your next exhale,
Let's push out of the bedrock layer through the mantle and I want you to pierce the core of the earth.
The earth's core is molten lava,
So it's white hot,
Yellows,
Ambers,
Oranges,
Reds,
Dark,
Dark,
Crimson,
Purples and blues,
All those fire colors.
So choose a fire color for you that represents the fire earth energy.
And what we're going to do with every inhale is we're going to visualize ourselves like a straw,
Pulling up that earth energy color you've chosen into the roots that you've laid all the way through the layers.
So on your next inhale,
Pull that earth energy color up into your roots through the mantle and start backtracking in the bedrock layer,
Super saturating those roots that you've laid in the bedrock layer.
On your next inhale,
Let's pull straight up from the core through the mantle,
Through the bedrock layer and start pulling up into the sedimentary layers,
Again backtracking left and right,
Ensuring that those roots are just super saturated,
Just dripping with that earth energy color you've chosen.
Now on your next inhale,
We're going to go right from the core all the way through the mantle,
The bedrock,
The sedimentary layers,
All the way up through the concrete foundation,
The floor,
All the way up to the base of your feet.
Do a couple of pulls up to the base of your feet,
Visualizing that energy coming right up,
Nice big inhale to pull that energy up to the base of your feet.
Good.
Now on your next inhale,
We're going to pull right from the core and we're going to go up through all those layers and we're going to pull that energy from the base of your feet over the tops of your feet into your ankles,
Into your calves and shins,
Pulling it up the roots that you've laid in your legs,
Up your thighs,
All the way up into your tailbone.
Another big pull up,
Bringing that energy up into the base of your tailbone,
Moving that energy up into your lower back,
Every inhale,
Pull it up farther,
Pull it up into the space between your shoulder blades,
All the way up into your neck,
All the way up into your head.
Really feel the pull and the tingle of that earth energy running through your body.
Now I want you to be the observer here of your body.
I'm going to count 10 to 1 and we're going to focus on relaxing different parts.
So let's start focusing on your toes and your ankles.
I want you to roll your ankles a little bit one direction,
10,
And a little bit the other direction.
Soften the muscles in your calves.
If you want to crunch them up first tight and then relax them on the exhale,
That's fine.
Nine.
Turn your attention to your thighs and your bottom cheeks.
Relax those.
Eight.
Focus on your lower back and with every exhale,
Allow yourself to relax deeper and deeper.
Seven.
Soften your back muscles,
Moving up into the middle back and into the space between your shoulder blades.
Six.
Turn your attention to your torso,
Your abdomen,
Your stomach area.
Breathe into any tension or tightness that's there.
Five.
And with every exhale,
You're relaxing deeper and deeper,
Allowing the muscles to soften and your body to get heavier and heavier.
Four.
Soften the muscles in the upper back and around your chest.
Drop your shoulders on the exhale.
Three.
Soften the muscles in your neck.
Drop any tension that's on your face and around your eyes,
Your cheeks,
Your jaw.
Two.
Take a nice,
Big,
Deep breath in and on the exhale,
Relax every muscle more and more,
Deeper and deeper.
One.
Until you're as relaxed as you can possibly be.
Then quietly in your head,
Repeat after me.
I am safe,
Secure,
And grounded.
I am safe,
Secure,
And grounded.
I love myself.
I love myself.
I am strong and confident.
I am strong and confident.
Keep breathing nice and slow,
Relaxing deeper and deeper with every exhale.
I am not responsible for other people's problems.
I am not responsible for other people's problems.
It is okay to let things fall apart in order to rebuild them better.
It is okay to let things fall apart in order to rebuild them better.
I have the courage to let go of the need for control.
I have the courage to let go of the need for control.
Keep breathing nice and slowly,
Allowing the statements to just float in your mind and your heart,
Noting things that resonate with you.
There are many different paths to the same right answer.
There are many different paths to the same right answer.
I share my ideas lovingly without pressure or expectation.
I share my ideas lovingly without pressure or expectation.
I am open to learning new perspectives.
I am open to learning new perspectives.
I release the fear of judgment from others from my body with every exhale.
I release the fear of judgment from others from my body with every exhale.
Keep breathing nice and slow,
Continuing to relax with every exhale.
Consider these now.
I can see where life has happened for me,
Not to me.
I can see where life has happened for me,
Not to me.
I am willing to accept my life path.
I am willing to accept my life path.
I surrender and trust the universe.
I surrender and trust the universe.
I let life flow with ease and joy.
I let life flow with ease and joy.
Keep breathing nice and slow,
Relaxing on the exhale.
I am not afraid to speak my truth with love and kindness.
I am not afraid to speak my truth with love and kindness.
Imagining a new way to respond will shift my energy upwards.
Imagining a new way to respond will shift my energy upwards.
Releasing control releases the stress in my body,
Mind and spirit.
Releasing control releases the stress in my body,
Mind and spirit.
It is so freeing to let go.
It is so freeing to let go.
I trust the signs and messages I receive.
I trust the signs and messages I receive.
I trust and listen to my inner knowing.
I trust and listen to my inner knowing.
I love the person I am becoming.
I love the person I am becoming.
Keep breathing nice and slow and consider for a moment.
What is the one thing that really resonated with you deeply?
Within that,
Is there anything you could start doing differently to help you release the need for control within your life?
If you tackled one little area every day,
Your ability to release and let go,
To trust yourself and the universe would be unbridled.
I want you to wiggle your toes and your wrists and your fingers,
Slowly rotate your head.
Take a nice big breath in and open your eyes and come back to the room when you are ready.
I hope this helps you think about control in a little bit different way,
A new perspective.
I hope you realize that having control can be healthy but it can also hurt yourself and others.
So thank you for joining me today.
I hope there is something that you can connect with and resonated with you and that you feel you can work on.
I hope you found this helpful.
Have a lovely day.
Namaste.
