Beginners

Step into the version of you who already has what you’ve been longing for. In this guided meditation, Laurie McGinley walks you through a sensorial journey into your future self where the change you desire is no longer a hope, but a lived, embodied reality. Through intentional breath and vivid sensory activation, you’ll experience what it feels like to see, taste, smell, hear, and move through life in this new state of being. This practice blends neuroscience, visualization, and somatic intelligence to anchor that future into your nervous system now. You’ll use gratitude as the chemical proof that it’s already done. Come back changed. Come back resourced. Come back with your wish, already alive inside you.

Transcript

Take a moment to find the you that is very you in the core of who you are.

With your in-breath,

Pull all of you back in,

And with your out-breath,

Push everyone else out.

Have in mind the change you want in your life,

And on the next intentional breath,

Go to a future where you have that,

And you've had it for a while,

So it feels normal.

Put your today fingers into your future self's fingers,

Your today eyeballs into your future self's eyeballs.

Be in that future body,

And look around with those eyes,

What do you see?

Calmly notice the small things.

What do you hear?

What are the sounds of this life where you have what you've been looking for?

What do you smell?

What's in your life that you can notice with your future nose?

What can you taste?

And take this future body to dinner,

Savor it,

Experience it.

What does it feel like to move in this future?

How do you feel emotionally,

With all of the input from your five senses,

What are your feelings?

Feel a question in this life,

And experience how you respond when you have what you desire,

And you've had it for long enough,

And it's normal.

How do you think in this life?

Take a moment,

And hold everything you've experienced,

And feel gratitude,

Feel it exquisitely so the hair stands up on the back of your neck,

Because gratitude is the chemical signal that an event has already occurred.

With your next breath,

Intentionally take your fingers out of your future self's fingers,

Your eyes out of your future self's eyes,

And feel yourself in the present day come back to where you started.

And when you're ready,

Move on with your day knowing that your wish has already come true.
