A profoundly relaxing journey through the body from outside in, cultivate imagery around a refuge where you begin to feel at ease and grounded in wellbeing, and experience the subtle body and the reality of the mantra of "I Am Safe" as you drift to sleep.

Become aware of your whole body.
And feel your body leaning into the surface on which it's resting.
Feel the contact between your hips and that surface.
If you feel you're pulling any muscles or squeezing them together,
Release them.
Feel your right heel contacting the surface.
Your left heel.
Feel both heels together contacting that surface and leaning into it.
Now feel the contact between your right shoulder blade and the surface.
Your right hand.
Soften the palm of your hand.
Let it lean heavily.
Left shoulder blade.
Left hand.
Soften your left hand.
Feel both shoulder blades,
Both hands leaning into the surface.
Now feel the back of your head contacting the surface.
And let your head lean heavily.
Feel your whole torso softening and leaning into the surface.
Both legs,
Both arms,
Head and torso leaning heavily.
Feel your jaw softening.
Your forehead.
And as you feel your whole body leaning into the surface,
Sense that there's a support there in which you can lean into.
And sense the support all around your body,
Just outside your skin and throughout the whole room.
Sense that that support feels like a friendly tone to the room,
A nurturing safe tone.
It might have a color,
Rose gold.
Feel that that rose gold color fills the room in a warm,
Nurturing,
Friendly way,
Wrapping around and embracing your whole body.
Like a blanket.
May sense the support of other aspects.
The energy of the support of people who care.
People who love you.
People who wish health for you and accept you just as you are.
Notice any other images or ideas that provoke that sense of wellbeing and ease,
Protection.
It can be elements of nature,
Smells that provide that sense of ease and safety,
Comfort.
Maybe mantras,
Words that provide comfort.
Consider your intention.
I am safe.
I repeat that intention three times,
Heartfelt and imagining exactly as though it's already here and true.
Now you're going to move awareness through your body.
Starting with your head.
Become aware of your head,
Your throat.
Become aware,
Feel and feel a sense of presence growing there in that part.
You may mentally create an image of that part and feel it.
Right shoulder,
Right elbow,
Right wrist,
Tip of right thumb,
Second finger,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth,
Wrist,
Elbow,
Shoulder,
Throat,
Left shoulder,
Left elbow,
Left wrist,
Tip of left thumb,
Second finger,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth,
Whole body effortless,
Wrist,
Elbow,
Shoulder,

Create a mental image of this area and feel it.
Front of chest,
Navel,
Pelvis,
Right hip,
Right knee,
Ankle,
Right big toe,
Second toe,

Relax the whole body,
Fifth,
Ankle,

Pelvis,
Left hip,
Knee,
Ankle,
Tip of left big toe,

Be effortless,
No trying,

Rest awareness in the navel,
The front of the body.
As awareness fills this area,
Feel a sense of presence growing there in the navel.
Now become aware of the throat,
The front of the body.
Don't try,
Just be aware.
This awareness fills the throat,
Relax.
Become aware again of the navel,
The throat.
Now imagine a long,
Thin,
Transparent tube connecting the navel with the throat.
Relax the passageway between these two points.
This tube is hollow inside and open at both ends like a flute.
You can blow through it from the top or the bottom.
Imagine this luminous,
Transparent tube and move awareness up and down along the outside surface.
Imagine the entire length of the tube from the navel to the throat.
This tube is made of non-material stuff,
Particles and fibers of light interwoven.
Now become aware inside the tube,
The center of the tube experiencing from within.
Become aware of easy,
Natural breathing,
The way the body breathes itself.
Imagine this breath moving inside this passage between navel and throat.
While you naturally inhale,
Breath descends from navel to throat.
While exhaling,
Breath descends from throat to navel.
Breath moving with awareness and awareness moving with breath.
Relax awareness of breath and movement inside this pathway.
Gradually,
Become aware of a subtle flow moving together with breath and awareness.
Imagine a thin,
Sparkling stream of energy flowing up from navel to throat as you breathe in and down from throat to navel as you breathe out.
Just imagine and be aware.
Whatever arises within the mind is okay.
Gently observe.
Bring awareness back to the relaxed breathing and inner movement.
Calculate the movement that allows this investigation.
It's intentional movement and awareness.
Whole body and mind at ease.
Since the whole body now becoming heavy.
Whole body heavy and sinking.
Now sense that the whole body is weightless.
So light that you begin to sense a space between the body and the surface on which you're resting.
Grow that space and feeling of weightlessness.
So light that you begin to float upward.
Drifting like a leaf on the gentlest breeze.
Take a moment to look down and see your physical body resting safely and peacefully on the floor.
Continue to float higher.
Imagine being above the building where your body is resting.
See yourself above the city.
Now look to the horizon and see a stunning sunset.
You float effortlessly toward the clouds colored by the many hues of the setting sun.
Oranges,
Pinks.
You float toward these clouds.
Begin to feel yourself pass through the clouds amongst the many colors of the sky.
As you pass through each individual cloud,
Feel that you become or you take on the shape,
Form and color of the cloud.
Slowly and effortlessly floating,
You become the shape and color of each unique cloud you pass through.
As you pass through the cloud,
Feel your form dissolving,
Merging into the cloud.
Continue to move through and morph into the shape of each form.
As you pass through the cloud,
Feel your form dissolving into the cloud.
As you pass through the cloud,
Feel your form dissolving into the cloud.
Now feel formless.
One with the vast endless sky.
Body,
Mind and soul are at peace.
Just in that.
One with the vast endless sky.
Body,
Mind and soul are at peace.
Be aware again of the subtle flow of effortless breathing as it moves through.
Be aware inside the passageway.
Visualize the thin sparkling stream flowing from navel to throat.
Visualize white light moving from navel to throat as you breathe in.
And white light moving from throat to navel as you breathe out.
Now listen carefully to the subtle sound of breath as it moves up and down this passage.
The sound of the breath is the mantra,
I am safe.
As you breathe in here,
I am safe.
As you breathe out here,
I am safe.
This mantra is not separate from the breath.
Not repeating it verbally.
It's already going on within the breath each time.
Become aware of it.
Be aware of the subtle flow of effortless breathing as it moves through.
Be aware of the movement of breath,
Stream of white light in the mantra.
Try and feel this entire process is inside this passageway.
Be aware of the subtle flow of effortless breathing as it moves through.
Whatever arises within the mind is okay.
Observe it.
Feel awareness intensifying so that you begin to sense a subtle vibration of your mantra.
That it becomes not words but the feeling.
