Welcome to this meditation,
I invite you to take a couple of moments to centre yourself along with me,
Just having a little move around my body,
A little wriggle around,
Rolling my shoulders,
Turning my neck from side to side,
Feeling into my body,
I invite you to do the same,
I invite you to get comfy in that physical space that houses your spirit,
And then I invite you to take a deep breath with me in through your nostrils,
Hold at the top of your lungs and breathe it down deep into your belly,
We're going to do that three times,
Hold the breath,
Shoot it down into your belly,
Imagine when you are doing that that you're inflating a balloon,
Let's try again,
Imagine that those bits of your belly and your sacrum,
Your groin,
We're intentionally re-oxygenating them,
Sending beautiful oxygenated blood right to those bits,
Take another breath in through the nostrils,
Hold at the top of your lungs and breathe deeply down,
I invite you to find a place that feels centred wherever you are,
Maybe you're on a mat,
Maybe you're just sitting somewhere peacefully on a comfy chair,
On a bench,
Maybe you're in bed lying down,
Maybe you're walking,
Wherever you are,
I just invite you to really centre in your body and bring that centre of concentration inside into your inner being,
This meditation is for you today if you've been feeling angry,
Disrupted,
Frustrated,
Confused and outraged at the inconsistencies and injustices that you see around you,
This meditation is for you today to help you come back to a place of integration,
Place of power,
Place of steadiness,
I invite you to take a deep breath,
Hold that breath at the top of your lungs,
Push it down into your belly and as you do so,
I want you to feel fire,
Feel the fire of that anger as it pushes down into your belly,
It's a warm heated sense of sacred rage,
It's a beautiful golden fire,
It's not out of control but it is burning and it is hot,
It's heating up your insides,
It's heating up your belly,
There's a fire inside,
There's a fire in your groin,
There's a fire in your heart and it's a beautiful fire,
It's a beautiful heat,
It's a fire that's warming you from the inside,
It's a fire that is so large,
Contained but large,
It's a fire that's warm enough to heat others,
It's a powerful fire,
It's a powerful golden fire,
Fuelled and heated by sacred rage,
A beautiful knowing rage,
Not an out-of-control one,
Not a dangerous one,
Just a deeply knowing,
A deeply centered,
Deeply gentle rage,
A rage that makes you feel alive,
That makes you feel inspired,
That's moving you into action,
That's moving you out of passivity into inspiration,
That's galvanizing you,
That's warming you from the inside,
A fire that's burning so bright you can't help but share the light of that fire with others,
As you move through the day,
As you speak,
As you share space with others,
They're inadvertently aware of that heat,
That power that's emanating from within you,
It's a natural,
Beautiful,
Sacred fire that's burning bright,
It's so beautiful,
There's enough for everyone,
You're tending to that fire,
You're tending to that fire,
You're keeping it alive but you're keeping it contained,
It's that fire that's like the hearth,
The center of your home,
The center of place that you can always come back to,
It's your job to keep that fire burning,
Not to let it get out of control but to keep it tender,
To keep it,
To keep it alight,
So there's always warmth there in the center of your home,
In your hearth,
That fire is ignited by rage,
Sacred rage,
It's why it's okay to be angry,
It's why it's okay to be frustrated,
Curious,
Disrupted,
Because it's that which breathes oxygen into the fire and keeps it burning,
But today we're just breathing in inspiration with every breath,
Gently tending to our fire,
Caring for it,
Acknowledging it,
Not denying it,
Cherishing it,
Acknowledging that it's there,
That it needs to be there,
That it's powerful,
That by being there we have spirit,
We have more than enough light and heat to share with others,
That by keeping it within us,
By tending to it,
We have our own internal radiator,
We don't need to go looking for warmth in other people's homes,
We don't need to go searching outside ourselves,
We have our own generator and that's the most powerful place to be,
Self-sourced,
With enough power and warmth to share with others,
So that we can welcome others into our safe space too,
We can shelter them,
We can help them light their fires,
We can show them that the fire needs to be lit from within,
We can guide them with our light,
We can share our flame,
We can help others warm themselves from within,
We can share our divine light,
Our divine fire,
By welcoming in that sacred rage,
By fueling our fire,
By not denying that rage,
By integrating it,
By using its fuel,
By acknowledging its beauty,
Acknowledging its goldenness,
By acknowledging its divinity,
That that very fire is the accelerant for spirit,
For us to shine and share our spirit with others,
It's a beautiful,
Passion-filled rage,
The only thing we have to do is tend to it,
Allow it to get out of control,
Sometimes it might feel like that's going to happen,
The key is not to deny it,
To acknowledge it,
To see it,
To witness its power,
To celebrate its power,
And then re-channel it,
Hold it inside,
Allow it to accelerate that flame,
That flame of heat,
That flame of divine spirit that lives within us,
Acknowledge how self-sourced we are,
How powerful we are,
Acknowledge that we need no one else's permission,
That all we have to do is connect with that fire within,
Acknowledge it,
Celebrate it,
Offer it up as a gift to the world,
Our job is to keep that fire tended,
Not to let it get out of control,
To manage it in that loving,
Dedicated way,
We can't do that until we acknowledge that it's there,
That it's absolutely necessary if we want to stay warm and heat others,
But that there's danger too unless we keep it managed,
Witnessed,
Acknowledged,
So today I invite you to hold that sacred rage up,
Like a ball,
A ball of fire,
Acknowledge it,
Celebrate it,
And then place it back,
Back into your groin,
Back down deep in your belly,
That beautiful,
Round,
Spherical ball of fire,
As it spins and turns,
As it centres you,
As it simultaneously draws in spirit and emanates spirit,
It's your sacred fire,
Fuelled by your sacred rage,
It's yours,
Nobody can put it out,
I invite you to take a deep breath,
Breathe in inspiration,
Exhale love,
Fuelled by that fire,
Take another deep breath,
And exhale love,
I'd like to close this meditation today with a prayer that is dear to me,
Dear God,
Where will you have me go?
What will you have me do?
What will you have me say?
And to whom?
Amen.
And so it is.
