One of the most important things that we can do for ourselves is to nourish our connection to nature.
Everybody has a different way of doing that.
I am so thrilled that you are here.
Thank you so much for trusting me with some of your time.
In this particular meditation,
I am going to take you with me to a sunrise,
A glacier point in Yosemite.
I am Maria,
But it doesn't really matter who I am.
This meditation is about you.
I'd love to invite you to get into a seated position with your feet firmly planted on the floor.
I'd like to invite you to put your hands gently on the tops of your thighs,
Palms upwards or downwards with whichever way is most comfortable for you.
Please relax your shoulders,
Relax your arms,
Your neck,
Close your eyes.
I'd like you to focus on the beautiful light that you see even with your eyes closed behind your eyelids.
Focus on that energy at your forehead and pull it back slowly into the center of your head.
We are going to activate your brain.
I'm going to take you with me in your mind's eye.
I'd like you to imagine that you are in a car in the dark with the headlights shining on the road in front of you.
Moving forward into the night,
The headlights are shining on the road but to the sides you can see the forest.
You're cautious as you drive,
Wondering if a deer might cross your path.
You're safe,
You're warm in the car.
The headlights show you the road in front of you.
The road winds gently along the side of a mountain.
The sky begins to lighten ever so slightly as the car is moving forward.
You can look to your right and see a valley below starting to appear.
You realize how high up on the mountain you are.
You are safe.
The road is windy.
The headlights are brilliant lighting the way.
The pre-dawn sky is gray and starting to help light your way.
You come to the end of the road and you have to turn left into a small parking lot.
No one is there.
It's empty.
You park the car and you open your door and you realize how cold the air is around you.
You brought a really warm jacket and you walk up the hill through the parking lot onto a trail.
You're feeling a little bit hurried,
Hoping to catch the sun as it rises in the distance.
Over the mountains across the valley,
You walk down a trail in awe of the beauty.
The gray sky lights your way.
You take a deep breath in.
The sun is not here yet.
You have a moment.
Sit down and wait for the sun to rise.
You breathe in the air.
It's cold in your nose.
You exhale.
You're gazing across the valley.
It's so early in the morning that there is no one else there.
You begin to notice that the sky is getting lighter at one spot in particular of the silhouette of the mountains in the distance.
You keep watching that bright spot as it gets lighter and lighter,
Lighter and lighter.
You see the sun start to peek over the crest.
A little point of light that slowly gets brighter.
It's a quarter of a circle,
And it's a half of a circle of bright yellow light and light.
It rises and becomes a full circle as you watch the bright light of the sun traveling so far to you,
Across the valley,
Across the universe.
A gift for you.
Deep breaths in.
This is the same sun that shines on you every day.
No matter where you are on the planet Earth,
You have the same brilliant sun nurturing you in your life.
I'd like to invite you to open your eyes when you are ready.
Take the sun with you into your dead.
It's on the cover of this meditation.
I'm so happy that I can share it with you.
I'll talk to you another time.
I love you so much.
I love you.
