This meditation offers you an opportunity to relieve your anxiety and increase your inner feelings of peace.
So let's begin by getting comfortable.
Either seated or laying down,
Whatever is right for you.
And gently close your eyes.
And we'll begin with three deep breaths in.
So inhale and exhale.
And another inhale and exhale.
And one more inhale and exhale.
And continue this breathing pattern as you gradually feel more relaxed through your breath.
And I invite you to notice your feet on the ground.
The earth that's below you always supporting you.
Holding you steady and present in this moment right now.
And as you continue to breathe,
Imagine that you have a grounding cord that is attached to the base of your spine and it extends all the way down through the ground.
Connecting you to the core of the earth.
Where this grounding cord is a way of helping you feel centered and grounded.
And a place where you can release whatever's weighing you down.
All the thoughts,
The feelings and the emotions you've maybe been caring for a long time.
Or maybe it's stuff that's just recently popped up.
Whatever it is,
Allow yourself to gently bring it to your attention and your awareness.
You may feel it in your head or in your heart.
Sometimes we carry it in our stomach.
Or a specific place in our body where there is an ache or discomfort of some sort.
Maybe it's one thing or maybe you have many things that feel very complex and complicated.
Just allow yourself to have an awareness of everything you're carrying and all the anxiety.
As you inhale and exhale,
Each breath you take in relaxes you and brings you more into the present moment which is so calm and peaceful.
Your breath in is new energy as it guides the old energy out with each exhale.
And all those thoughts,
Feelings and emotions and the anxiety you may be carrying,
All of it in your awareness begins to dissipate.
You may feel it descending down gently through your body into that grounding cord at the base of your spine.
For the grounding cord almost is a pathway to release and let go of everything that no longer serves you in this moment right now.
You don't have to worry about where it's going or what happens with that energy.
The earth will know what to do with it.
All you have to do is continue to inhale and exhale,
Bringing new calm energy in and releasing the anxiety through your breath and down through your grounding cord that holds you safe and steady in the present moment right now.
Continuing to breathe,
Feeling more calm and free of everything that was weighing you down,
You're finding your center again.
And if any thoughts pop up or feelings come to the surface,
That's okay.
Just continue to breathe and release where you're creating a beautiful circulation that is helping you and releasing you from whatever has held you back,
Becoming more calm and centered,
Free and easy.
Each breath becomes deeper and more healing.
You're clear and peaceful.
And as each breath brings you back into your center,
Free of the anxiety and all of the tension,
You can gently release your grounding cord for now.
You can always come back to it,
Imagining it gently disappearing into the earth as you begin to feel your body in the space that you occupy.
Gently come back,
Gently coming back to your experience,
All your senses feeling so free and calm.
Continuing to breathe,
One more nice inhale and exhale.
And when you're ready,
You can come back to your space by opening your eyes and embodying the feeling of freedom from the past as you embrace this new,
Calm moment of relief.
