About seven years ago,
I found myself struggling in life and I knew I needed a change and quite a significant change.
I was living in a big city and I needed some time and space to heal,
Really.
I wanted to be by the sea and I was fortunate enough to be able to move to live by the sea.
So I'm one of those very lucky people who has a very short walk to the healing sounds,
Smells and sights of the sea.
And I thought it would be a nice idea for us to sit together today and just enjoy the soothing sound of the sea.
So keeping it very simple,
Come back to this practice anytime it might be helpful.
Let's start off by settling into the space.
Feeling the weight of the body against the surface you're resting on.
It might be helpful to allow the shoulders to drop,
It might be helpful to allow the face to soften and it might be helpful to allow the belly to relax just a little and a little bit more.
You might notice the breath as it enters and leaves the belly,
It might be helpful as you notice each in-breath to say to yourself,
I notice I'm breathing in and it might be helpful with each out-breath to say to yourself,
I notice I'm breathing out because noticing the breath is a great way to be in the moment.
Notice the in-breath and the out-breath and when the mind wanders,
Gently bringing it back to the breath or the soothing sound of the sea,
Guiding the mind back gently when it wanders as it does,
As it will.
Gently coming back to the space around you when you're ready,
In your own way and in your own time.
And thank you so much for practicing with me today.
