It's a really good idea to say thanks at the end of the day,
So this is a lovely practice to do in the evening before bed.
Find a comfortable position of your choice and shift around to find what's comfortable for you.
After you feel ready,
Take three deep breaths into your nose and then out slowly through your mouth and let the breath settle into its natural rhythm and let's start by saying thank you for life.
We are still here,
We're still breathing,
Heart is still beating,
What a miracle.
Next tune in to a moment this morning,
Think about this morning,
What two or three things are you thankful for,
Maybe it was waking up in a warm bed,
Maybe it was the first sip of tea or coffee,
Maybe it was seeing a loved one,
Name the things you're grateful for that happened this morning and then move through your day,
Taking mental note of the things you remember,
The little things that you're grateful for,
Move through your day,
What did you do today,
What interactions did you have and appreciate,
Was someone kind,
Courteous,
Was someone funny,
Was something funny,
What brought a little lightness or ease to your day,
Does anything bring a smile to your face as you think about it,
Perhaps thinking about this afternoon,
What moments,
Small moments are you grateful for,
Nothing grand,
Well it might be depending on what happened to you today but it's absolutely fine for things to be small moments,
It usually would pass you by and you might not notice at all,
Just say thank you when you think about these moments,
Thank you,
Thank you and thank you and notice how it feels to go through your day like this,
What's the experience like for you,
Just sitting for a moment in gratitude for life,
For the little things that keep us going,
That make us smile,
Life can be so wonderful and it can be so awful and it can be so boring and mundane but there is always,
As long as we're breathing,
Some small things to be grateful for and cultivating a practice like this is a wonderful way to close out each day no matter what's happening for you,
Just put things into perspective and allow you to let one day draw to a close in hopeful anticipation for another day and another chance,
Thank you so much for practicing with me today
