Hello and welcome.
Breathing together and celebrating that you are here.
You are choosing to try a new way,
Bringing curiosity and openness along.
You and I are together,
Along with anyone past,
Present,
Future,
Listening to these very words.
And I widen our web,
Calling in the trees to be here as loving witnesses with us.
Let's see what arises when we focus our attention together.
First,
Can you feel where your body is making contact with the earth,
Feeling into the sensation of being held,
Sturdy as the bedrock of the earth?
Then,
Is there a place in the body where you can feel the sensation of craving?
Continuing to breathe as you scan for it,
And once there,
Inviting in curiosity to learn more about this sensation.
What is its temperature?
Is there a speed to it,
A texture,
A color,
A quality?
What type of landscape is it?
Returning to the breath,
I invite you to rub your hands together,
Creating some warmth,
And then place a hand there.
The intention that these hands send love and gentleness,
Extending that to ourselves.
It's okay to experience whatever is here,
Noticing what arises,
Leaving your hands where they are.
Place your attention back on the surface that's holding you,
Where your body is making contact with the earth.
We are the bedrock,
The river flowing over us.
We are witnessing the ever-changing now,
Connecting with the breath,
Always here,
And returning with curiosity to that sensation of craving.
Have there been any subtle shifts in texture,
Any sort of movement or change in any direction?
I invite you once again to celebrate as we were with the sensation for more than 90 seconds,
Though the measurement doesn't matter.
Great job!
We are creating new pathways by adding space and noticing these sensations and resourcing with a feeling that feels neutral to pleasant,
The earth beneath us.
90 seconds is powerful,
So whatever unfolds as you transition from this meditation,
Know that your senses are now attuned to savor whatever experiences are ahead.
To enjoy it,
Receive with delight and gratitude and presence.
Thank you for being here.
Go well and root it into your day.
