This is a yoga nidra practice for deep rest and comfort.

Wherever you are,

You might begin by gently massaging the hinge of your jaw just below your ear,

Making a few circles with your index finger with some light pressure.

Maybe opening and closing your mouth slowly as you massage.

You might also want to massage the sides of the neck as you massage,

Slowly releasing tension from the face and neck.

Perhaps using a pillow under your head.

Perhaps you'd like to pause this recording now.

Making yourself as comfortable as possible.

Taking this breath two more times.

Now,

A heart's desire,

A sankalpa,

A short positive statement of intention for this yoga nidra.

If you're not working with a sankalpa,

Perhaps you might resonate with,

I relax deeply in the comfort of myself.

Repeating this now,

Three times.

Allow your attention to scan gently through your body,

Following the sound of my voice.

Bring your attention to the center of the throat,

Your own pace,

And simply starting over if you get tired.

Let your awareness saturate your whole body.

Imagine yourself standing on a sandstone,

The sand before you is slightly obscured by thick rosemary bushes and full of aromatic plants,

The salty sea spray hanging in the air.

You start walking down the path,

Pushing aside the wandering limbs of the plants that are in your way.

In front of you,

The sea stretches out to the horizon,

Its surface sparkling with a late afternoon light.

Notice that the sun is slowly setting in front of you.

The sky dancing with hues of pink,

Peach,

And pastel purple.

The sea salt hangs sweetly in the air.

The sand massages the soles of your feet with each step,

Each step taking you closer and closer to the seashore.

Your feet now touch the waterlogged sand where sea meets land.

The calm waves lap at your feet as if the sea was welcoming you by gently kissing your feet.

The last rays of the setting sun caress your body,

A warm.

You take a few steps in the crystal clear warm water.

The water comes up to your ankles.

Tips of your fingers brush the surface of the sea.

Silently,

Sea foam passes you by,

Gently brushing your body.

Here is where life is birthed.

The sea beneath you sparkles gently with the light of the stars above you,

A perfect mirror to the clear night sky.

You lay on the sea surface,

Effortlessly held by the generous water below you.

You gaze softly at the night sky,

Noticing the millions of stars.

Your body is perfectly held by the sea,

Each point of your back supported by the salt water exactly.

Resting now in stillness.

There is nowhere to go,

Nothing to do.

Just resting right here,

Right now.

Buoyant,

Still and perfectly comfortable.

Bring back to mind your intention,

Your Sankalpa.

I relax deeply in the comfort of myself.

Whisper your intention gently in your mind,

Three times.

Notice your breathing,

Just as it is.

The gentle rise and fall.

Notice the edges of your physical body.

Feel your back against the earth.

You might want to touch your thumb to your index finger,

Gently rubbing them together.

Perhaps wiggling your fingers and your toes.

Bringing now some movement to the rest of your body.

Maybe gently rocking the hips or the head.

You might want to rub your hands together,

Creating some gentle heat between your palms.

And then placing your hands over your eyes,

Moving your eye covering if you are wearing one.

Noticing the gentle heat over your eyes.

At your own pace and in whatever way is most comfortable for you,

I invite you to make your way up to sitting.

Thank you so much for practicing Yoga Nidra with me today.

Not a long intro, incorporated somatic and visualization, well paced and different body scan. Loved it!!

Body + short breath awareness + ocean visualization. Nice voice. Good idea to start with a face massage, then quickly on to the practice. A bit disturbing when the music stopped during the visualization.
