Details

Fall is a season for slowing down and simplifying — a time to kindle our inner light and an ideal moment to begin or deepen a yoga practice. Unplug for a weekend of Hatha yoga at a center rooted in Ayurveda, yoga's sister science. Tune into the subtle messages of the body and explore how nature and the cosmos are reflected within you, through practical practices rooted in tradition. As nature sheds and prepares to move inward, let’s align with the seasonal cycle and immerse in practices that nourish the body, steady the mind, and soothe the spirit. We’ll begin to build our inner reserves to embrace the darker days with peace, love, and joy in our hearts. Ha-tha translates as Sun-Moon, and the main energy channels of the body connect with these cosmic forces. Sun and moon cycles influence our circadian rhythms, bodies, and energy. Hatha practice guides us in working with this awareness to cultivate balance and harmony. Our weekend theme is Divine Light, a foundational yoga concept that invites deeper connection to soul-self (purusha). Observing the cycles of change in nature (prakriti) guides us in navigating change within us and around us. The physical becomes a bridge that illuminates our true essence and anchors us into new daily rhythms as the season turns. Join us for a weekend that hits the reset button and provides a sense of grounding.

Testimonials

info

I attended a yoga retreat, for Thanksgiving 2023 and my birthday (11/23), in the serene paradise of Puerto Morelos, Mexico, and it was truly a transformative experience. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in a sense of peace and serenity that only the natural beauty of this coastal gem could provide. The group of women who gathered for this retreat were not just fellow participants; they became kindred spirits on a journey of self-discovery and growth. Our session leaders were nothing short of remarkable. They exuded a deep sense of spiritual connection and were genuinely invested in our individual journeys. Each session felt like a sacred space where we could explore our inner selves and connect with the present moment. Their intuitive guidance and nurturing presence created an atmosphere of trust and openness, allowing us to delve deeper into our practice. What truly set this retreat apart was the emphasis on personal freedom and autonomy. While there were structured sessions and activities, we were also given the flexibility and time to follow our own hearts. Whether it was a solitary beach walk, a tour activity, or a spontaneous dip in the crystal-clear waters, we were encouraged to honor our desires and nourish our souls. The yoga retreat experience was further enhanced by the unforgettable celebration of my 40th birthday. Surrounded by this incredible group of women, it felt like celebrating with family. Their genuine warmth and thoughtfulness made me feel incredibly special, and the surprise of a decadent chocolate cake, my favorite indulgence, was the icing on the cake, quite literally. Despite my initial concerns about the food, as I am not a vegetarian, the retreat organizers went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary preferences. I deeply appreciated their flexibility and effort to ensure that everyone felt included and catered to during mealtimes. This gesture reinforced the sense of unity and care that permeated every aspect of the retreat. It was a testament to the genuine bonds that were formed and the unwavering support that we offered one another throughout our journey. As I reflect on my time in Puerto Morelos, I am filled with gratitude for the wonderful experiences, the meaningful connections, and the profound sense of belonging that I discovered within this beautiful community. In the end, it was not just about the yoga poses or the picturesque surroundings; it was about the profound sense of connection and community that we cultivated together. As we bid farewell to Puerto Morelos, we carried with us a renewed sense of purpose, a deeper understanding of ourselves, and cherished memories of a harmonious and uplifting experience. -Irma

Getting to travel to Mexico and participate in this retreat was one of the greatest things I’ve ever done for myself and meeting you all and gaining new friends was one of the best parts!

Starting from the beginning does not have to be scary, intimidating, or overwhelming. Starting from the beginning can and should be important, intense, meaningful, and challenging. Having the support of Gaby and the others in her retreat has shown me that literally any person in any body can practice yoga in a way that supports, changes, and deepens their life.
